I can’t believe that justcottosalami has moved into the electronics business. Best Buy and Circuit City better watch out!
As far as the Bengali hammer goes people should educate themselves with some research before they start buying items they are interested in but… ignorance on the part of a buyer is no excuse for a seller to try to pass something off as being legitimate when it isn’t.
I despise the new E-bay system of not having bidders identified or allowing you to contact them.
I also revile E-bay for allowing dishonest sellers to change their names and repeatedly pull the same ripoffs over and over again!
Justcotto… from what I have seen in the past has had some nice items up in the past and he’d do just fine without changing everything and trying to hoo doo everyone by saying the items are what they aren’t.
lol, my favorite one is the “Cool as Ice” movie that he sent the guy a copy.
The guy who bought the “Snarf Gun” should get negative feedback as well, for being an idiot. Even a kid could tell that its just a toy with stickers on it.
The repro Pumyra slings have been out there for a while, and I am totally against it. Not only is it hard enough to actually find a complete Pumyra, now we need to take care to make sure the weapon is not a repro. Sometimes the seller will not be the best at taking pictures (or it is done on purpose) and you can’t get a clear shot of the sling. Is it real, is it repro? Yeah, that’s why I am against it. Worst though is some fan may buy it thinking its real and be all happy and stuff, only to one day find out its a fake.
Looks to me since the guy is going to the trouble of bilking unsuspecting people out of their money he’d invest a lettel time in getting his speeling correct. :sneaky:
I’ve had some mis-dealings with justcotto as well, I bought a lot of 11 “Mint on card” figures from him with some pieces I needed to fill out my collection and figured on selling the rest to re-coup the investment. I ended up with a Lion-O shipped back to me I’m about to re-list as a re-sealed figure instead of mint on card. It serves me right for not closely examining the figures before I listed them but still. I get items in all the time to re-sell and the extent of the time I spend with those is enough to photograph them and mark their spot in inventory. We are in an on-going discussion about attempting to make it right but I will never buy from him again after that fiasco. If I would have been on this site 2 months ago it would have saved me the hassle!
after seeing his Berbil Belle on the mini card i finally got annoyed enough to send him 5 or 6 straight emails through the ask a seller section. waiting for some witty replies from him. I think it’d be funny as hell if we all would flood him every now and then with eBay emails basically telling him we know he’s a liar, fraud, and a crook or w/e lol
Don’t be surprised if you get a nasty reply, Copper. He did that with one person on this site, so he’s bound to do it with you. Batten down the hatches!
And, yes, I’m sure he’ll just love getting those e-mails from all of us. Maybe he’ll be so busy screaming back at us that he’ll forget to post his latest scam job!
i don’t really see how to make a complaint unless it’s on an auction of his that i’ve purchased which i obviously haven’t done. any clue if you can file fraud complaints on him so start an “investigation” or do they even do anything like that
Since Robimus actually did make a purchase from him, he should be able to make a claim. Those of us that haven’t can’t. eBay won’t even look at it unless money has exchanged hands, or its something that is blatantly obvious it’s a fraud.
i got some replies from him, he called me a low-life ***** lol. I did notice that that crummy berbil belle on a minis card he did write that “I got this from another auction, if it’s a reseal i didn’t do it and someone else did a custom” because he apparently got a lot of emails. I’d highly suggest that you question his authenicity to him, not be rude like me, at first to see if this can maybe start making him at least say “this is or might be a reseal” if enough of us question it. Oh, also he told me to not be jealous b/c he has so much stuff and is a “true” thundercats fan, and that only true fans should bid. anyways true thindercats fans and collectors are not the ones that bid on these things obvioulsy b/c we don’t bid on them.
I thought I posted a reply to this a few days back but I guess it didn’t go through. Yes I have a dispute for items not as described with ebay (its listed as a she, Jessica Cruz, on paypal actually but I will use he since everyone else has…) and I asked for a partial refund for the lost value based on perception of what the auction was advertised as and what I actually received, acknowledging I have no grounds for a return and refund because I’ve sold half the figures in the lot, 2 of which received complaints about being re-sealed, 1 was returned and one given a partial refund, not to mention the Tygra presently in my collection probably is. I only asked for a hundred, or to purchase the Lion-O and Tygra back for 200, but that got nowhere except a collection of poorly written derogatory emails. So now I’m leaving it up to Trust and Safety to investigate the practices of this seller, which it will go to automatically in 5 days because the seller has no intentions of responding to the dispute within the 10 days. So I may get the hundred I asked through paypal regardless because they will debit it from the account if funds are present and if you don’t respond to a dispute it’s the same as pleading no contest in court. That still wouldn’t make the buy what I hoped it would be, but you win some and lose some and I wouldn’t ever buy anything I couldn’t afford to dump if the market sours, like my stocks have this past 6 months! I’m now putting almost all my pension selections in China, energy futures, and gold. But that’s WAY off the subject…lol. But yes to answer all of your questions I’ve brought these practices to the attention of ebay and let the seller know there is one more person watching them. If I only had federal jurisdiction…(sigh.)
