Beware Ebay Member dancot70,aka justcotto,wildcard8080,thundercatsloverpart2,azcar ds43,batmantoys81

Is this legal? I’ve never bought or sold anything on-line, but I do know that at least several of you guys do. Can you buy something and then resell it on eBay or any other auction website? :?

You can buy anything off eBay, and then turn right around and list them for sale.

In this guys case, he could sell the card/bubble and figures in an auction, either stating all 3 items are together but not sealed, or he could even reseal them and state that they are resealed. Perfectly legal, as you are not duping anyone. The bidder knows what they are bidding on.

Where it becomes illegal or fraudulent though, is when you sell an item as an original/sealed, when it is clearly a reseal, which this guy has done in the past. The two berbils in one pack comes to mind.

Unfortunately eBay does not police every single thing on eBay, so people like this ass hat can continue to con people. I am sure he has a plethora of fake eBay user names he uses to bid on his own stuff, plus give himself positive feedback.

It is up to us as collectors to know what we are bidding on, as well as keep our fellow Thunderians informed.:slythe:

Thanks, Alex.

Our friend also has a plethora of fake ThunderCats items, as we’ve clearly seen. The best we can do to warn our fellow Thunderians is to direct them to that wonderful toy guide that’s here on TCL. I’ve learned a lot about the toyline and the figures from it, enough to where I can spot at least obvious fakes. You guys do a great service with the toy guide. It’s a big help.

Haha! Dancot’s busted! I hope he’s reading this. There should be an island for garbage and dishonest scumbag sellers. We’ll call it… Garbage Island!

Ok guys beware once again for the following auction:

Look carefully at the ThunderCats logo and you will notice that it is actually glued on there.Never seen this before and he claims it is from Kid Works (a legit company) but packaging seems like a custom of his. Im still trying to figure out how the figures are attached to the card via bubbles. Perhaps he has something to make custom bubbles. Either way judge for yourself…looks fishy to me with the glued on ThunderCats symbol

IMHO, it doesn’t even look like the figures are in bubbles. It looks more like shrink wrap. (Look at Lion-O)

Also, it makes no sense for the punch hole to be in that location. The item would hang weirdly. It doesn’t look like there is a punch hole on the other end either.

The whole thing is a crock.

[COLOR=“Blue”]Edit: So I was bored and looked at JustCotto’s feedback as a buyer, and wouldn’t you know it, it looks like he makes purchases from people over seas. Even as far as Malaysia. I am guessing he buys stuff of eBays international sites, gets them cheaper but pays for higher shipping, and then sells them here in the US.

btw: here is the box that he bought to sell that “MIB” Sword of Omens a while back.

Here is the mini figures he bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330229294374 then he took a ThunderCats logo and glued it on the card. I guess it is legit but the fact he glued on a ThunderCats logo on it is just horrible

And there you have it. Good find Manny!

Indeed, a standing ovation to eagle-eyed MannyC and Alex for pointing this out. “Dancot70” was a tad more clever than usual. I would have been completely fooled by that clear wrapping had Alex not mentioned shrink-wrapping; I stopped to remember what an original package of a ThunderCats figure looked like. And Alex is right about the punch-hole. No company in their right mind would place it off to the side like that. A punch-hole for a hanging package is always placed squarely in the middle of the top of the package, or at both ends if the packaging is too big or too long to hang by just one hole. And, on closer examination like MannyC suggested, I could see the outlines of the ThunderCats sticker.

“Dancot70”, “justcotto”, or whatever he calls himself on eBay should be called “Rip-Off Artist Living In A Fantasy World”. He never stops trying to fool unwary buyers, and it’s amazing that he doesn’t care if he’s caught red-handed. He simply marches on. Anybody want to tell the local mental health clinic that we found their missing patient?

It is extremely difficult to find the Jackalman, Cheetara and Lion-O with their club, sword and staff respectively still glued in their hands.

Why the man would change the logo from Cosmocats to the American logo makes no sense. Wouldn’t the Cosmocats designation make the toys more valuable?

Yes, Cosmocats variations are very difficult to find and highly sought after. He destroyed this really rare (and really cool) collectible by gluing a Thundercats logo over it. Serves him right. Good detective work Alex and MannyC. I think somebody should report him to eBay for shady business practices. They actually do get rid of members with poor business practices, although many of these idiots reappear with different aliases.

Yeah its legit and pretty cool as well. To bad he ruined it by pasting something on it.

justcotto aka dancot70 has bought 5 different empty blister/cards for resealing. Check the auctions out

Look out for resealed figures with those cards

I saw that too! Rather… I saw the packages up before the auctions ended and knew that he would probably go for them!

How in the world is he re-attaching the blisters to the cards and making them look so good?

At least he won’t be able to pull a “L@@K special rare American foreign carded one of a kind!!!” type thing with the Mongor, Lynx-O, or Snowman cards.

Or maybe…

With todays technology, you could pull off resealing a card quite well.

I also saw those up for sale on eBay and immediately knew who would pick them up. lol

He’s still selling as Dancot, too.

What a tool. Thanks to 'Roar for the linky!

Lol, a Snarf gun!

Well, it looks like he is now taking to art as he is painting fake BenGali hammers blue.

This is the ultimate joke…a THUNDERCATS NEW PANTHRHO COBY CD RADIO HOT!!

A CD radio with Panthro stickers. Are you kidding me???

Judging by his ideas (Snarf gun, Panthro Radio) and his spelling, I am inclined to believe this guy is probably about 14 years old.

I tend to agree with Alex.

Regarding the Bengali figure, I would be amazed that anybody would not be able to tell the difference between a hammer and an axe. Therefore, whoever buys it from this guy gets what they deserve.
