Been reading everywhere how much of a “boys” series Thundercats is. Just wondering - are there other gay Thundercats fans out there? Has the series played any role in your life as a gay man/woman - and who was your favourite thundercat? When you bought your first toy - which one was it? Just like to connect to other gay Thundercats fans I suppose, don’t seem to find any out there?!
Took me a while to find this thread since it was hidden in the Great Void. Guess us Gay, Lesbians, Bisexual and Transgendered Tcat fans must be well hidden from the public. I thought by now we could be public and not hiding. Guess I was wrong.
I am a bisexual Tcat fan. For a long time I was a lesbian and still have a preference for women but I like guys too. I don’t like making a final decision but if I was forced, I would be lesbian. I’m proud to be a mother of two children.

Ah, I understand, my mistake. Years ago on another website I went to, not Tcat related, someone made a thread of a similar nature and it was moved so others couldn’t see it. 
I do believe there are many more of us GLBT Tcat fans out there but afraid to be public about it however if this thread continues hopefully more will come out of the woodwork 
Yeah, I do hope so! There’s really no need to hide the fact that we are gay. But I also respect other people’s views, so don’t want to “expose” them to what they don’t want to read. Keep in touch Lynxie - oukbloke@live.co.za.
I think it’s a case of folks wanting to remain private, coupled with the fact many members cant access the Great Void so didn’t see this thread.
There is no problem with this thread being placed in the General discussion forum if you’d like it moving there
‘Sensitive’ issues are mostly political and sexual. So long as your not discussing topics such as gay sex for example, then this thread is ok in the general forum area

Now for a Tcat tone of this thread. While growing up in the 1980’s, it was odd for a girl like me to like a boy’s show so much. I went to a private school so there were clearly defined lines of what girls should like and do and what boys should like and do. While girls in my class like Barbie, Cabbage Patch, Jem and other shows, it was actually frowned upon for girls in my class to like She-ra because it was too tom-boyish. I, of course, was the oddball out there and went against the grain and liked Thundercats. Yes, I was made fun of it, even from my mean, nasty abusive cold-hearted teacher…ironically he later left teaching and became a priest…don’t get me started…I still have anger issues directed at him and how he used to make me cry and how he used to humiliate me when I was just a ten year old little girl.
Ahem, got off track there abit. Anyways, I always liked the character “Lynxana”, I discovered her when I was ten years old and I identified with her right away because I was bullied by boys and teachers for being a girl. It was great to finally have a heroine like Cheetara, a girl character that wasn’t the damsel in distress, she was a strong character that could defeat the bad guys. But to finally have a character that touched on the subject of inequality, “Lynxana”, that helped me when I was a little girl. I learned this isn’t a new thing, that I’m not the only one to be belittled or humiliated for my gender when I am just as smart or just as good as a boy.

I have been a fan of the Sword and Planet genre since childhood. ThunderCats was simply a part of that line-up.
great to meet other gay tc fans!! as a boy i was frowned upon because i liked cheetara more than panthro - and i’m not your stereotypical gay guy - but still, it wasn’t fun when the kids got together and i pulled out cheetara - and the others all had their tygra’s and lion-o’s.

I still keep going back and forth in my mind as lesbian or bisexual. I wish there was a way to say I’m a lesbian with an occasional taste for men…not to be completely bisexual but have the rare occasion of bisexuality. I thought this confusion would be done and over with after my teenage years but Hell, I’m 35 going on 36 and it still has yet to be resolved. I think being forced to get married just to shut my family up really messed things up LOL
It’s funny if you think about it…it took me years to finally muster up the courage to tell my mother that I’m a lesbian, and then to hear her say “no, you’re just angry at men, I’ll have the priest call you to talk to you” bull crap, and then I just gave up trying to convince her ROFL. So to keep the peace and to stop the constant questions, I just said it was an angry phase…yet they still have yet to piece all of my entire childhood clues together. How many 35 year old women do you know of that got a tool box with real tools for Christmas at the age of 7 do you know of? Or the fact that I never had a boyfriend until my sister arranged a few of them? Duh!
I was 18 when I had my first real boyfriend…my sister arranged it.
I always knew there was something “gay” about the Thundercats Outfirts from the 80’s 
LOL It must have been the big hair and the spandex! Tygra was the only male Tcat with no belt and used a whip.
I think the gayest cartoon character of the 1980’s was He-Man! Prince Adam wore lavender tights and when he was He-man, he wore furry underwear. I’ve been to gay night clubs…I stand by my convictions.
