I definitely think that being gay made me a bigger ThunderCats fan when I was really young, if only because I retreated into it a bit when I had a hard time making friends. 90% of my closest friendships are from college, after I came out. It’s funny, if I’d been born ten years later, I’d probably have come out in middle school and been way more social. But then I’d never have known the ThunderCats!
I also remember declaring my admiration of She-Ra over He-Man at a young age, and having that raise eyebrows. I mean, come on—her greatest confidant was a giant rainbow! 
I have so many moments like that from childhood. Some of them did more than “raise eyebrows”, heh heh.
Sure they matter, gay men are better at everything
