A try at HTML

Hey all so far Ive been playing around with the Snarf page to attempt doing HTML. Here’s what I have done so far. Not bad for having it done on notepad… http://www.thundercatslair.org/toys/snarfplush/ and its ONLINE!!!

UPDATE: I have started the Thunderwings Lion O page as well…I will probably require a little bit of help but for the most part it should be fairly easy to do. Here is what i have done so far http://www.thundercatslair.org/toys/thunderwingsliono/ this one is not online and i will require a bit of help to put it online once it is finished

Excellent work Manny!

Just 2 points though, the first concerns both pages you have done:

1/You need to get the carded/boxed images all watermarked.

and then

2/You need to display the correct Lion-o figure in the viewer. Do you have loose pics of that Lion-o? If not, I can find you the ones from Andrew’s folder or you could download the folder yourself and search for them. Though I did see you said this is what you had done so far, so I’m assuming the Lion-o images is all you need to do to complete the page.

As for a few text changes, I’d alter these parts as follows:

Variations:

This is the third in a total of 3 head variations. The other two variations were series 1 head (orange/red hair) and series 2 head (red/maroon hair)

Collector Tips:

Make sure the Thunderwings are in working condition. Another important fact to note is the difference on the head between the regular and the Thunderwings Lion-O (Thunderwings Lion-O has a slightly different head sculpt, see Variations for more details) It is also important to note that the back of the Thunderwings Lion-o figure is solid and has no slot for the light up feature or a battle-matic action lever. These were left off to make the Thunderwings fit the Lion-o figure much better. On the figure, watch out for paint wear on head and feet.

Oh and finally, the viewer title needs changing to Thunderwings Lion-o.

I’m very, very impressed though Manny, with what you have done here. Together we might just be able to get about 80% of the Toy section html done outrselves with odd help from MannyF and Kyle.

On a related note, I’ve updated my US vs UK article, see here:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/toys/dcards.htm

The only thing is, the age sticker needs watermarking.

then I’ve also done the Toy Adverts page, see here:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/toys/toyadverts1.htm

This might need some slight formatting to it and it needs the comic adverts watermarking. I don’t think the toy commercials need a watermark as they are borrowed from an outsider (David Thornton)

Hopefully once these tweaks are done, both articles are good to go!

Thunderwings Lion O is almost done…all that is needed is front view pics of Thunderwings Lion O with accesories. And by the way Thunderwings Lion O is viewable online!!! I’ll try to get the Luna Lasher Mummra up as well but i will need to do some major editing

Cool! Do you need me to take a pic of my Lion-o figure wearing the Thunderwings and then perhaps you could cut out and paste the Thunderwings Lion-o figure head onto the Lion-o in my pic?

By the way, Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra loose is all ready and uploaded for you:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/staff/neil/LJN%20loose%20toys/Two-packs/

The pics just need editing is all and the eyes need editing too to match the Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra figure.

I also have the Snarf pvc photographed here:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/staff/neil/Weapons/snarf_pvc.JPG

to be edited into the Lion-o (with Snarf) page.

and Ratar-o’s silver non eye daggers here:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/staff/neil/Weapons/ratar-o%20silver%20daggers.JPG

The black eye daggers are here:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/staff/neil/Weapons/rataro%20weapon.JPG

I reckon Ratar-o is in urgent need of adding to the guide seeing as he is the only main line figure not present on the guide!

I’ll work on getting a good pic of Ravage so the Mumm-Ra (with Ravage) page can also be updated.

Cool stuff Manny!

Neil if you could take pics of the Lion O with Thunderwings that would help a lot since aI dont feel like going thru the hassle of removing mine from the card. Oh and by the way i managed to get a loose pic of Luna Lasher Mummra with the accesory

Here you go:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/staff/neil/LJN%20loose%20toys/Two-packs/

it’s the last pic in the same folder as the loose Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra pics

Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra is now online as well

Chris here…

MannyC, that work is just amazing! :jaw: You’ve taken to that like a duck to water, that’s fantastic to see, nice one!

Could I stick my oar in and add that, for the Thunderwings Lion-O, I would adjust the “Notes of Interest” text to make it slightly clearer, perhaps saying something like:

“The Thunderwings Lion-O, along with Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra, can be considered the holy grail in any Thundercats collection. It is extremely rare to find one loose and almost impossible to find carded examples. This is probably due to low production runs towards the end of the toy line.”

Also, for the Snarf plush, I note you’ve spelt the word “whiskers” as “whiskas” - other than that, I’d say the text for that is nigh on perfect!

I have to say, I’d love to know how you guys are doing this, and how you’ve picked it up so quickly - given that MannyF has already created the templates for a lot of stuff for the Comic Section, if someone could watermark my cover scans for me, I find myself wondering whether there’s a way I could create new pages for the Comic Section myself, thus taking some of the workload off of Kyle’s shoulders. Although, I’m such a dofus with stuff like that I’d probably end up deleting the entire site!

Like I said, Neil, you’ve done an awesome job on those! Did you get my PM about the Toy Adverts page you’ve created (amongst other topics)? Basically it was just drawing your attention to the broken image link underneath the Cats Lair and Beserkers screen grabs, and also asking what you thought of adding the info about the possible identification of the narrator of three of those four commercials.

Also - I’ve recently purchased 15 more of the UK comics, and shall shortly be scanning the covers. A couple of those comics also feature those adverts once again - so, not only can I provide additional info about which issues those adverts appeared in, but, I can also provide better quality (less tatty!) images if you would like! Please LMK if this would be of help, Neil, and I’ll move the scanning up to my list of priority jobs!

Take care…

Ok i fixed the text on those…definitely sounds much better now. As far as how i did those well i just took the files and replaced them with what i needed it to be and placed the new files into the site directory. I did it all by editing with notepad…it wasnt too hard, definitely not as hard as i thought. I will attempt later to take on the much harder Playsets and see how that turns up. The toy guide should be almost complete very very soon…Im definitely excited. Its a lot easier if you have a preset format like the one in the toy guide

Chris here…

That all sounds excellent, MannyC! I have to say, even though the toys isn’t my section, I’m getting majorly excited seeing this stuff going online! Please keep us posted how you get on with the Playsets side of things, I’d love to see those pages online!

Take care…

Great stuff, just one error though. You need to change the text referring to the card back to 2-Back. At the moment it says 14-back.

Actually, I’d also change:

Variations:

This is the second variation of the Mumm-Ra figure. It has painted eyes and a solid back with no slot to light up the eyes or a battle-matic action lever.

Manny, if I were you, I’d avoid mentioning any accessories variations here seeing as there are no accessories with the Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra package.

Notes of Interest:

Sometimes people get confused with the Playful version of the Mumm-Ra figure. The Playful version does not have the light up eyes feature, but does have a battle-matic action lever. So if the Mumm-Ra figure has a battle-matic action lever, then it is the Playful figure and did not come with the Luna Lasher.

I did receive your pm Chris, but haven’t managed yet to update the article. Embarrassingly I forgot to reply to your pm :duh: Sorry about that.

I’d love to get better scans of those ads! Do you have any different ones to those we have amongst those new comics?

If you want to talk about this stuff in more detail later, I’m happy to talk on Skype

Chris here…

No problem, it’s good to know it’s not just me that things like that happen to!

I haven’t finished checking them out yet - if I find any I’ll definitely do some scanning of those too! All of the comics I got came in special sealed comic bags, and I haven’t opened them all up yet - the only reason I’m aware of having another example of those ads is because the bags they come in are clear, and the adverts are on the back cover!!

That’s good to hear - I’ve got to go out in just over an hour and will be out until at least 11:30pm, but may be about to talk on Skype for a bit once I get back whilst I have my tea! If you don’t see me on there it will mean I’m absolutely shattered (I’ve had a hectic week and am pretty tired today), but you could well strike lucky - or unlucky, dependant on your POV!

Take care…

Thanks Neil for those three important points…It has been updated!!

Actually just realised I’m wrong there. He comes with a loose head dress. Do you think you could cut the head dress from the accessories/weapons pic that’s on the other Mumm-Ra figures pages and some how had that in below the Luna Lasher pic, or if possible edit into the Luna Lasher pic?

I remember the Mumm-Ra sword handle having a darker tone on some releases, but not sure about the head dress? It’s up to you whether you mention the head dress as a variation or not.

Chris, will be on around that time anyway, so will have Skype loaded. It’s cool though if you can’t make it.

I’ll use the word we think that’s the voice over, just to cover our backs.

As for the dead link, I’m not seeing anything below the Cats Lair and Berserkers ads? Manny are you seeing this too?

Chris here…

That’s cool - I’ll try my best though!

Yep, 100% that’s the way I would play that too - to my ear it’s pretty obvious that’s who it is, but without any official confirmation I agree that we shouldn’t state it as a fact, but just say something like “We believe that the narrator is…”

I’ve just hit the “properties” link on the red cross image that signifies a dead image link (I’m sure you know the type I mean!), and it gave me this as the link:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/toys/toys/graphics/figuresAD.jpg

If I delete the repeat of the word “toys” from that link above and open it in a new window, I get this image:

http://www.thundercatslair.org/toys/graphics/figuresAD.jpg

Does that help at all, Neil?

Take care…

Im working on Rataro with blue eyes as i type this

Chris that helps a lot! I forgot all about the Coming soon image for the series 2 figures ad! :duh: That’s what that image was originally for. Also found that the reason it wasn’t loading is because I didn’t enter the full url address for it.

Well the page has now been updated, with that image and the changes/additional info. I just noticed that in the second ad, they spell Lynx-o’s name wrong, so I’ve mentioned that as a side note.

I’ll wait for the news comic ads before putting it online and public viewable. If I can’t get the images watermarked soon, then I’ll just do what MannyC has done and make my own non clear site marks with Ulead Photo studio. I’m guessing the watermark feature that Kyle and MannyF are using is on something like Photoshop?

One more!!! Ratar-O with blue eyes is online www.thundercatslair.org/toys/rataro

Excellent Manny! If you need any help let me know.

Ready to go online I believe, as we have all the pics needed is:

Sword of Omens
Ratar-o (with silver sias)
Luna Lasher
Thunderwings
Black Energy pack (Laser Saber)

As for the playsets, thinking we need to discuss how best to tackle those. Personally I’d like to put a nice sized front and back image of them and then for each part a clickable link for a pop up window to display that part in more detail. With a Playset like Cats Lair I think this would be the most informative option. That reminds me, I still need to take a pic of my Cats Lair box, unless you already got one Manny?

Just one quick correction, under Accessories: it still says Mace on a chain. Other than that, perfect!

Fixed  caught it just in time
