Sorry for my stupid ask, but is this the same voice of Lion-O like this trailer o.O (1:31 min. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enQXITlKRgg ).
I mean, he sounds younger ( in the trailer) as in 9 min. sneak. o.O
Yeah that’s the same guy. Will Friedle. He has a pretty wide range sometimes. He was also Ron Stoppable on Kim Possible if that tells you anything.

I wasn’t trying to list every character he’s ever done. I was giving an example of him doing a younger, higher voice because Shibo seemed confused as to wether it was the same actor or not.
Yeah Will has quite a range, but I think his regular voice sounds young itself, maybe that’s why he plays characters that are in their teens.
For now though, it’s Tygra’s voice that’s bothering me, somehow it doesn’t match.
I loved Tygra’s voice. It’s younger, but it still sounds a lot like him to me.
Well if Mumm-Ra makes a believable disguise, then I could see it happening.
It might be okay if he wasn’t so excited all the time: there was too much energy in his voice. if that makes sense. Perhaps that’s why I didn’t like it all that much, I didn’t see much variation, which again comes down to waiting before judging it without having seen the final product.
Well to be fair the scenes we saw him in are kinda action-y scenes. He probably WAS excited before the race and during the fight.
And speaking of Mumm-Ra’s disguises… I wonder if there’s going to be a Silky in that Petalar race…
Hehe :)…that would not bode well for this more serious take on Mumm-Ra, unless of course they make appropriate changes.
I think they will limit mumm-ra’s transforming habit a bit. He was basically too powerful in the old show yet he never actually stood a chance. Maybe he has to steal something or get hold of something before he can morph into something else. Like the t1000 in terminator 2.
Anyway I never liked it that he could transform into anybody. If it’s not overdone it’s okay.
I think there will be a Silky. I guess even when they didn’t mean this to happen, she turned into an “iconic” character.
I bet they won’t repeat the episode where Lion-O and Tygra fought in the dark and the sword broke and had to be reforged in a volcano. Sounds like this time around, Lion-O and Tygra will fight each other all the time so there’ll be no need… 
MumRa is going to be the one pulling the all the strings and Grune will be the one to carry out plans that MumRa can’t do himself directly (with Grune giving the lizards the jobs he deems not important enough for himself to carry out). Having said that I doubt Grune will be a complete pushover, he’ll probably have plans of his own to grab power from MumRa.
As for Grune being a subtle manipulator, very little of him was shown in the original and they’re tweeking every other character, his character might be good at that.
I’m guessing Grune is going to be a very charming character, who reveals his true colours to Claudius as Thundera dies.
It’s an interesting idea, though time travel can be a bit of hard concept to keep track of (see Moffat’s Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Doctor Who). My hope is that MumRa is human in origin, turned to the Ancient Spirits of Evil for power back in the distant past to overthrow the pharaoh but is defeated. Slept for a bit, woke up and destroyed Humanity. Ruled over Earth for millenia while the new species evolved before the Thundercats finally appeared to challenge his rule. He’s defeated and locked away in his pyramid before Grune appears to free him. And then we have the disaster to come. Of course that skims close to what’s come before for MumRa.
Lion-O defeating MumRa ? It’s probably going to require that he finds the Book of Omens (entering it to gain knowledge etc), finding the stones of power and then finding a way to use them to defeat MumRa.
He could be human, his transformation into MumRa may have changed how he looks entirely. Whatever MumRa is, I hope we get to see how and why he becomes MumRa. As that will be interesting to see, especially if he starts good but slowly gets corrupted by evil.
Anyway, I don’t think Thundera really existed before Mumm-Ra was defeated. I think that before then there were just tribes of them, and then several of them united to stop Mumm-Ra and formed the ThunderCats. From there they created the kingdom of Thundera and began to bring order to the rest of the world.
That sounds likely. My guess is the clerics in their original form may have forged/discovered the Sword of Omens and went on a quest to find a worthy champion to use the Sword against MumRa. In the process uniting all the tribes into what eventually becomes Thundera.
I think someone mentioned it before, but I think Grune might try to exploit Tygra’s jealousy of Lion-O to get him to join his side.
I think that’s a good way of showing Tygra’s strength of character and a way for him to overcome his jealousy of Lion-O. He’ll be tempted but before he completey falls into the spell of the Ancient Spirits of Evil he’ll come to his senses.
And as for the Wildstorm comics, while that mini series was pretty bad, I still think a lot of the origin stories in the Heroes and Villains/Villains and Heroes one shots were decent. I almost can’t believe they were written by the same guy though. It’s of little consequence anyway, this series is giving Mumm-Ra a new origin.
There are some good idea’s in those comics, and some very bad ones. The feeling i get from the producers of the new Thundercats is that they’ve taken the best ideas from various sources and added them to their own to create the new Thundercats.
In the leaked footage, I found this quote by Claudus to be the most intriguing…
“The Book told that it was the ThunderCats, our ancestors, who first defeated Mumm-Ra! It was the ThunderCats who brought law and order to a world of waring animals! And it is now the ThunderCats who are strong enough to maintain this fragile peace!”
Some people are taking that to mean this show happens after the original. I kinda hope that’s not true. or it is I hope they leave it vague enough for me to pretend its not. I think I would like it much better as a full reboot instead of a continuation where everyone was reincarnated or something stupid like that.
Ya know…watching this again. At the very beginning Snarf does say, “snarf, snarf.” Only it isn’t like a pokemon or a speaking voice. The “snarf” sounds almost like a cat’s meow does.

How could this show take place after the original, if Clawdus is alive?
Some people are saying that because Claudus says the Thundercats first defeated Mumm-Ra that he’s talking about the Thundercats of the original series and this takes place like 1000 years after or something.
shrugs Don’t ask me. I think It’s a horrible theory.
