With ten days until the debut, Theres one thing thats been on my mind: The feeling Ive been getting from the trailers is that Thundera will not be a planet, but a Kingdom on 3rd Earth?

I agree and it will open up a better chance for some bit characters to show up. 
I like this change. Wasn’t sure at first, but it does make more sense. The old Origin was kinda a Superman rip off. The core of the beginning is still the same. They’re still a race of people who’s home is destroyed and they have to branch out into unfamiliar territory.
I like it too. It gives the idea of Thunderians being like renegade hermits in their own palnet-
Something I’m starting to wonder is just how big Thundera is supposed to be. I think we can assume that most Thunderians on Third Earth live there. That kind of implies that there aren’t that many Thunderians to begin with though.
It’s a kingdom so it could be rather large actually.
The jury is still out with me. Gosh, why call it Thundercats? Guess why? Because it has an instant audience and we can pull in new younger viewers, and market the H3!! out of it and make big bucks doing it rather than launch a new show. That would be too original. To me this is something called Thundercats, but it isn’t. It’s characters named for the ones we know from the 80’s and “revamped”. Whoopee.
I hope they leave the goofy exclamation marks and Japanimation google-eyed expressions. I’m okay with them in something like Sailor Moon, but Tcats I hope they leave those out.

Not all anime looks the same or even uses the same art style.
You obviously haven’t watched very much anime. Get out of the saturday morning cartoons. Go watch shows like Berserk, Claymore, Death Note, Fullmetal Achemist (though that does have some lighthearted parts), etc, etc, etc.
They’re just trying to take out the parts that frankly didn’t make sense. How much sense does it make for a planet to blow up because someone dropped a sword down a cliff? o.O
I agree with Balgus. And what would be the point of doing an identical reboot? Let’s also not forget that the original Thundercats was also animated in Japan, and had several scenes that was stereotypically anime as well. Oh and Death Note rules <3
Don’t insult my intelligence. I have watched some Anime, but I am not an avid fan. My animation favorites were way before you were born and Astro Boy was just getting started in Japan. Saturday mornings have been nothing but cheaply made garbage with limited animation for decades, so don’t go assuming what I watch. Anime is your cuppa tea, not mine. If I like the flavor I will watch.
And you obviously have no marketing knowledge either. Why do a reboot at all? Why call it Thundercats? This isn’t Thundercats. Why not let Thundercats rest in the 1980s with what they were? This creation whether good or bad is something that very well could have been named Royal Felidaes with other character names or species and background story. Would you have tuned in? Maybe…but hey…let’s call it Thundercats and you will definitely tune in and BUY! That’s was the marketers want. We Have A Ready Made Audience!! They will buy anything with Thundercats written on it. So…enjoy, kiddies. You probably won’t understand this point for a few more years.
I love how she(?) says “Don’t insult my intelligence” when no one was intending to, then proceeds to insult everyone’s intelligence intentionally.
And, you know, the producers/developers are fans of the old show and want a new generation to experience it too. Everything on television is meant to make money, including the original series. You sound like you’re being cheated, that somehow by using the ThunderCats name for this new show they’re trying to make suckers out of us. All it is is a re-imagining. It’s not some kind of conspiracy. Transformers does it, My Little Pony did it, and now it’s ThunderCats turn to get some of the spotlight, even if these aren’t the same characters we remember.
This isn’t some con job by a bunch of greedy executives to steal your time and money. This is something that a few big ThunderCats fans got a chance to create because those executives thought it would be a good idea and make some money. And honestly, I feel like you’ve insulted my intelligence for assuming that the members here don’t know about marketing. And so what about the marketing? We get a new ThunderCats show, they make money, (most) everyone is happy. If it turns out to just be a long toy commercial, which I don’t think it will be, then I’ll be upset.
Honestly, I see them making changes to things I would have changed given the chance. I also would have gotten rid of the space travel, made them more catlike (Although Lion O’s eyes would still be orange if I was in charge…) And given it more of a fantasy, less star wars feel.
It kind of seems like this is my ideal version of the concept. Of course, I won’t know for sure until I see it.
I’m with Astrokeep and Balgus on this one. I was a bit surprised to hear that Thundera’s a kingdom and not a distant planet and after re-evaluating my thoughts on it, it’s not bad. Somehow, this had me thinking about the Kingdom of Bhutan (I love Bhutanese architecture!) when this was mentioned.
I respect Willeya’s opinions because there are some animated shows that shouldn’t have been produced, but got the green light anyhow, so I am not the least bit bothered by her(??) statement. I don’t think that Warner Bros. intended for this version of the ThunderCats to be identical to the original series – just references here and there.
Continuing with Astrokeep’s statement, I absolutely agree because any show is marketable, even those that were cancelled and were revived because of DVD Sales (Family Guy and Futurama being the first to get un-cancelled!) because it’s all about the fans. This re-imagining of the ThunderCats was created by fans. If it wasn’t made by ThunderCat fans, I’d be pretty damn surprised. And like the rest of the others here, we’ll just have to wait and see where this show takes us. I serously DOUBT we’d be looking at a 22 minute (22 minutes being the length of a show, sans commercials) toy commercial. If it is, I’ll definitely be writing some angry letters to who allowed it.
Lastly and slightly off topic, I love Claymore.
The original story of multiple planets was a complete disaster, especially once you get to the “reforming” of Thundera and a magical new engine on a spaceship that can suddenly take them a trip that took years in a matter of days (or minutes in some episodes).
Having many kingdoms on one, large, sprawling planet allows for much great creativity and interactivity between the different peoples.
I love the original show, flaws and all, but this setup is definitely the way to go.
Daroga, the reforming of Thundera and instant space travel is what the industry calls a Magic Pill and as much as I loved the original, this adaptation adds a new life to Third Earth and its regions. It, to me is very similar to the different regions of New Thundera, like the Caverns of Cold and the Patrified Forest. Now that I think about it, I like this premise much more now.
