We’ve had the T-Shirt idea for quite a while and would like to know who would be interested. This is an open poll, which means your name will be visible if you vote. Its only an idea we’ve come up with so it may or maynot happen however we would like to hear your thoughts, we would be doing this to cover for some site expenses as well as coming up with funds for giveaways and such…

Its very much possible that we may let members decide on the design, so if youre interested in this idea just place your vote

Indeed, you can have a series of tees with your favorite Cat(s) on it. Bengali’s already said which ones he’d like on his! :smiley:

I’d just be careful about using licensed things on them - character images, the logo…probably even the name ‘thundercats’ if you’re going to be selling them for profit. Copyright issues and all.

That was our main worry, He-man.org did smething similar a while back so we’d have to look into how they managed to do it and all. It could be a tricky process but hopefully we can make this happen somehow.
With some custom art these shirts could really come out very cool indeed, it just sucks how careful you have to tread the legality issues when it comes to stuff like this

All you would need is a letter of permission from someone at LJN. I doubt if they would want any money.

No, they would have to ask for permission from Ted Wolf’s estate and Warner Brothers. LJN still exists, but it no longer makes toys, so Warner Brothers probably now have the rights to that as well.

I’ve been throwing that idea around on EOT for a bit. I never got past the legal part of it as I got kinda lazy with the holidays and all. I have a few simple shirt designs made up if you would like to see them. I would like to make a 2008 calender featuring custom artwork as well. I have a guy who agreed to do the art but I haven’t heard back from him in a while. I need to get on that as well.

i’m new on this forum, but i had the same sugestion over at the tf archive, i’m an artist and i used to make hand made t-shirts before. The idea to have a tcl shirt made sounds cool, but it is difficult to get by the copywrite stuff, but if you are serious to do something then you can send a letter to the studio, and some photos of the designs. With it coming in regards to a fan based forum you might be granted permision to make the shirts.

I would be interested. But the thing is I want to see the product first before buying.

A T-shirt would be fine but the characters I loved most were Slithe, Plutar & Quickpick

Slithe is my first choice but a good pose with the logo would suit me.

Nightshade, the only problem with that is that the studio could easily steal your design suggestions and put out your stuff under their name. So you might want to think about that before you do it.

All too true, megabyte27. Hollywood lawyers always have their hands full with lawsuits regarding stolen ideas. So, nightshade, it really is something to think long and hard about before you go ahead with your idea. :slight_smile:
