In the recent Bandai America interview it was stated that they have rights to make toys of anything that shows up in the new animation.
Would you be upset if Mon*Star or the Tigersharks were released as toys before Lynx-O or Jackalman?
As a fan and collector of MOTUC and regular poster on he-man.org this is one of the things I have seen the most, vintage fans who are upset to see other figures getting released before their favourites.
What is your opinion?
as for me, Lynxo and Mon*Star had about the same amount of screen time in the series thus far, so i dont see why one deserves a figure over the other, unless you are going strictly from a nostalgic TCats mentality.
as for MOTUC fans complaining that their vintage favorites arent being made first, there will always be people that think certain characters should be made before all others, but that doesnt mean those people are right.
the way i see it, there is a both a dedicated group of fans and a dedicated group of haters for every single character in every single series in existence.
people dont seem to realize that if they want all the figures that they want, it will depend upon the sales of figures they dont want. its the only way to keep a line going. and people that would rather sit and complain that Keldor got made before Sorceress are petulant children that somewhere along the way forgot that they are collecting TOYS based on a CARTOON. it isnt that serious.
You’re right Ideal you can’t please everyone.
As far as being upset about one character being made into a figure over another, I don’t care as long figures are being made. Sure, there is a list of figures I’d like to see made before others, however like mentioned above my list is most likely different than the next persons.
The only thing I can say that would irk me is too many figure variations. A variant or two is fine but I don’t need twelve different Lion-O’s and Mumm-ra’s.
I agree with your points but I have seen this happen in many places. You cannot discount the passion of the fanbase. To some people, toy collecting is serious business
Bandai has a VERY NICE track record with doing this. So will I be upset? Yes. Was I expecting it? Yes again.
To tell the God honest truth I’d buy Mon*star and Mako before I’d buy Lynxo and Jackalman anyway. I just like the way they look more. But I’d still want all 4. If I can find a job soon I’d be very likely to buy almost all the figures for this line and get a display shelf for them all.
Unfortunately, the figures are not good representations of the characters in the show.
Jackalman has a very distinct look in the NS so I am interested to see how that look is transefered to a figure. But I want an Mon*Star first
