Who is everyone's favorite ThunderCat and why?

I noticed that this category was a little empty so I wanted to hopefully get the ball rolling and I figured it would be a good way to meet people on the forum!

I’ll go ahead and start I suppose. My favorite ThunderCat is Tygra, ever since I was a kid I gravitated towards him. I always found both his virtues and flaws relatable and enjoyable to watch. His overly verbose nature, his affinity for works of beauty (nature, other cultures, cat’s lair etc), his crises of self-confidence, his unique friendships with Cheetara & Panthro, all of it. He delivers one of my favorite lines in the whole show “Because it is our tradition… It gives our lives form, tells us who we are and what we must do.”

Nice way to kick off this thread!

My favourite character design wise is Wizz-Ra, I just really dug his look, powers, his ancient nature and his connection with Cheetara.

Jaga was my favourite ThunderCat overall. His strength and sacrifice and his mentorship of Lion-O really impacted me as a kid. I had a wonderful grandfather growing up and I think that’s part of the affinity for me too. Also Earl Hammond’s voice acting was soooo good.

Great question, KingTabby! I was also partial to Tygra as a kid. I even wanted to be an architect for a while there. I still appreciate him for all the reasons you mentioned, and it frustrates me when people refer to him as boring—I actually think there’s a lot to him, and Sandy Fries did a great job exploring it in “Crystal Canyon”.

As an adult, I find I’m also really drawn to Bengali in his more impetuous, impassioned moments, and to Cheetara when she schools the boys.

I agree on all of that, Bengali & Cheetara are also high up there for me, it’s Tygra, Cheetara, Bengali & Panthro all constantly vying for favorite but Tygra normally wins lol

Oh yes! My feelings on Jaga is that he’s a well-intentioned but complicated guy, I love that they made all the characters nuanced but I always wished they grappled with the repercussions of his decisions more like Grune’s banishment resulting in his tyrannical tenure on Third Earth & being semi-responsible for Thundera blowing up by throwing the Sword of Plundaar into it’s core. He could be hard on Lion-O but also essential and supportive and Earl Hammond is always a win!

Tygra; he is a tiger, an architect, a scientist, and he is cool.
