Which generation of ThunderCats fans are you?

There will have been three major runs of ThunderCats in America; the original 80’s run, the 90’s Toonami run and the Wildstorm comics, and the new series run. This poll is to see which of these runs got you into ThunderCats.

I’m betting most members here belong to the first. I belong to the second. I first started watching the show on Toonami, being too young to have seen its original broadcast. With the new series coming out soon, there should be some third generation fans joining us.

I hope this is the right place, since this is more for ThunderCats in general.

I’m a Generation X’er! I remember getting up early and watching ThunderCats at 7:00 am before going to school back in the 80’s. :thumbsup:

I’m a mix of both. My parents have a picture of me watching Thundercats when I was like two, holding one of my sisters She-Ra dolls. So I -did- watch the orignal broadcast…but I cant remember it Haha.

I DO Recall the Toonami one, and being obsessed with it. And having at least seven VHS tapes that I recorded the episodes onto. And the fact I’d get ****ed if I was late coming home and missed it.

Yeah, it would have been better if we could see the Toonami version online since it was the better presentation.

Well, actually, www.toonamiaftermath.com is streaming ThunderCats as of now, with the Toonami made intro.

I taped a lot of the Toonami ones as well, I had a bunch of video tapes! I threw them away when ThunderCats came out on DVD.

I taped the original series…too bad they don’t make Beta machines anymore.

I am a dinosaur. Watched and taped in the 1980s. Started fan fiction in late 1989. First postings of fiction on Aols cartoon board in 1990.

Just because you said it that song came into my head. Haha! And nothing wrong with that at all, I read your fiction when I was a bit younger and loved it. I will probably start reading it again too :slight_smile:

I’m a Toonami kid. But according to my parents I watched the latin american dub when I was a todd. xD

I’m 19 and I watch Teletoon Retro. 100s of channels and the vast majority of it is crud. I miss when Winnie the Pooh was adventurous and free-spirited, it was acceptable for the heroes to kill the villains, and morality was an important aspect of cartoons.

80s child here, too. I used to watch Thundercats after school, and my friends and I used to RP that we were Thundercats characters sometimes. I also remember taking a sharpie to one of my old Barbie dolls and putting spots on her so she could be a Cheetara. (I didn’t play with the action figures because I thought they were boys’ toys, so I pretended my Barbies were Thundercats instead. :cheetara:)

That’s awesome! I didn’t really have a lot of barbies as a kid but I remember not really caring for the ones I did have. I thought they looked too adult-like to be any fun to play with. :stuck_out_tongue: Consequently I was more interested in playing with dolls that looked like kids. But I did like playing with my ThunderCat figures. So much so that I broke poor Lion-O’s arm off.

In Greece, ThunderCats were shown in the late 80s so I still have memories of the first broadcast.

Then again in 1991, another channel took over and we also had the VHS tapes… I’ve been completely hooked since then.
