Hello everyone. I just recently decided to collect Thundercats again. As a kid I only got Lion-o and one of the mutants. I lived in Peru as a kid and the figures where very very expensive and there were no knockoffs of the 'Cats other than the mini action figures. So where do I get brand new ones without selling my soul or a kidney? I’m also collecting a rare toy line from the US back in the 80’s called “Super Naturals” (I got all the bad guys MOC) which I really like! PLease let me know, the prices on Ebay are outrageous and unfair.
I’m afraid to say that Ebay will probably be your best option. If you resort to buying from a store its gonna cost you so much more than Ebay. Here is a few stores that have them http://thundercatslair.org/community/stores.html however be aware that most will probably be more expensive than Ebay.
The thing with vintage and popular lines is that no matter what you will pay top money. I’m not gonna go on how much Ive invested and how much members here have invested but I can guarantee you that some members have paid well over 100 dollars ona single figure. Even upwards to $2,500 for the rarest.
One suggestion would be to watch Ebay on an everyday basis and as often as you can. Sometimes you are able to get some good deals. Or simply save up until you can afford a figure
LOL!!! Expensive just like the old days! Some things never change! One thing that I regret is that I left my mini Thundercats back in Lima before I came to the
USA. Those were very well made and the paint job was great. I even liked them over the American version (at least for Tygra) or their counterparts from the rest of South America. It was made by a company called BASA who got the official license. Now is impossible to get them. It sure could make an unique collection. :bengali:
You can go about and start a loose collection. They go for a very small portion compared to carded samples. If you have a limited budget you can look for big lots of figures on Ebay and track down the accessories. It will definititely be fairly affordable to go the loose route and you still have the fun of collecting them.

Its cool, dont think it s a dumb question because i myself didnt know what the back thing stood for when i first collected action figures. An “8-back” refers to the amount of figures that are shown in the back of the cards. We have a section in the main site dedicated to card backs http://thundercatslair.org/toys/cardbacks.html basically an 8-back in Thundercats carded figures refers to the very first series wether a 14 back refers to 14 figures pictured in the back and refers to the 2nd series. Check out the link, there’s tons of more info

Again welcome to the boards. I have some stuff for sale still in the marketplace section. It depends on what condition you want your moc in the ones I have are a little rough, but mint figs. I also have some loose figs and things I am looking to get rid of. I can get you better pics of everything if need be.
Ebay is your best bet for thundercats besides the link manny sent you to. Just be patient as some of the stuff can get pretty pricey.
If you have any of your peru figs I would be interested in seeing them/acquiring them or know anyone that does.
To answer your question about 8-backs. These are the first cards that the Thundercats were released on. They only had 8 figs on the back much like the He-man 8 back cards. Thus since they were the first figs released are harder to find moc than the rest. The original 8 are Lion-o, Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, Mumm-ra, Monkian, Jackalman, and Slythe.
