I tried to find a good quality intro on youtube and i stumbled upon this.

Yep, IMO that is indeed from one of the UK VHS tapes, the clue is the fact that Panthro’s martial acts action is censored! 
I must admit I’ve never seen that particular piece of footage used as a substitute for Panthro’s kick before, the version I’ve seen in the past featured Panthro sliding down the Cats Lair wall, from the episode “Pumm-Ra”!

It might be from an episode on the double VHS pack. I’d have to check, but I know I’ve seen it on one of my ThunderCats VHS tapes.

I couldn’t agree more - the censorship of the Turtles was made all the more ridiculous by the fact that the UK comics were straight reprints of the US editions (just with the name “Ninja Turtles” changed to “Hero Turtles”), and so those of us who were hardcore fans knew that Michelangelo had nunchukus, the Turtles were ninjas, the Foot Clan used shuriken spikes, etc., etc. :rolleyes:
Thankfully the UK censors seem to take a much more relaxed view now, allowing cartoons to now be shown uncut!
