Hello everyone
Seeing that we might get a new ThunderCats cartoon what would everyone like to see?
I for one wouldnt mind them going the He-man/Snakemen series route, those toons rocked they were modern but not anime or anything trendy. Too bad it wasnt more successful.
Any thoughts?

Good question and one I haven’t really thought about.
It would be cool if they did the He-Man thing and had a constant threat throughout a series, more so than Muum-Ra or Skeletor.
Not sure though who the threat could be.

I’d rather see Mumm-ra’s threat looked upon as more of a force of nature (massive in scale and unrelenting in force) rather than yet another silly, half-witted plan that was doomed to fail the moment it was conceived. [FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]And as if I didn’t want enough already… give me some realism. The Thundercats are trained, professional warriors who can actually hold their own in a fight without the constant need for rescue from Lord Lion-o and his Crutch of Omens![/SIZE][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]Let the characters get injured, let the characters feel emotions, let the cats feel… well, human.[/SIZE][/FONT]
But…they always had a lingering threat in the Tcats series. They had Mumm-Ra, the Mutants, and later, the Lunataks. It wasn’t the fact they (the Tcats) didn’t have that constant threat to their well being; it was the fact they (the villians) - as a whole - were bumbling idiots who never learned from their respective screw ups.
What I would like to see in the new series (should it ever come to pass) - is the same villains, though with a little more intellect to their actions. None of this pussy footing around and giving the heroes an opportunity to slip through their fingers all too easily. Add some suspense where the viewer will find themselves sitting at the edge of their seat, wondering if the hero will pull through unscathed - you know?
I would also like to see some injuries or even death amongst the characters - both heroes and villians. I mean, when you’re in a battle and you’re meeting your opponents head on with bo staffs, lasers, explosives, maces and such - there is going to be someone getting hurt at some point.
And for God’s sake…have it so that the Thundercats are not so damned incompetant without Lion-O. Each and every one of them - technically - are older than Lion-O; they were his honored guards for the first 12 years of his life, for pity’s sake - so they had to have been able to take care of themselves while watching over him; why should that change after Lion-O ‘grew up’?
True, he’s now the equivalent of a 25 year old - but inside, he’s still the same 12 years old boy. Even with the power of the Sword of Omens in his hand - there is no reason why the other Thundercats should suddenly find themselves defenseless and helpless when captured by the enemy and needing him to save their asses.
You know what, I wouldn’t mind seeing The Stinger make an appearance since the figure was released in the 80’s, but he never appeared on the original series.
This would be a fantastic chance to explore an existing character right from scratch being as he never appeared in the original. I’d like to see what a new batch of writers could do with him 
I would love to see the Original cast and plot lines but with more character development for characters like Pumyra, Bengali and the Kittens! :pumyraveryhappy:
I’d love to see some creative un-anime designs for the characters, and darker.
I would be ‘beyond words happy’ with a new series that took the existing cast and developed/enhanced/built upon them.
1. Character Depth
The first thing I would like to see done is for the characters to be given more depth. In the 80’s Series many of the characters relied on a unique voice, a frequently used saying and a unique appearance. I would like to see these things retained but built upon.
2. New Characters
As well as the existing characters I would like to see a series of new threats challenge the Thundercats as well as new allies to help fight them. It would be important to me that these new additions make sense and are believeable in context with the existing ones.
3. Similar Animation/Style
I liked the animation style of the original. It was just the right balance between anime and traditional animation. I think with the amazing clean animation that is being produced today, this alone would bring Thundercats up to date. If they changed anything it would be minor updates to the look of certain characters costumes.
4. Story Lines
I believe that this would be the key to the success of the show. As we all know this was a weakness in many 80’s cartoons, yet they were still a massive hit. If the Thundercats concept was to work on a new series it would have to be entertaining with action to match the programs that grip kids today.
If even half of those points were met I would adore a new series. I can see it in my head, I really need to sit down and get drawing concepts I hope that answers the question.. There are many specifics I would like to see, maybe I will post them at a later time.
I say…just tell good, intelligent stories with good characterization. I’d like to see the Mutants become real worthwhile enemies of the Thundercats.

My favorite episodes of Hercules and Xena were comedy episodes. I’d like to see some TC comedy episodes with wit and intelligence, along the lines of the TCs getting caught up in the most absurd situations. I’d like to see punches and kicks exchanged. Plus I’d like to see some outrageous vehicle action. After watching the stunts in the Dukes of Hazzard movie, I’d like to see the 'Tank ski on two wheels, jump and drift! I love drifting!

I think Kyle (kzlambert) pretty much summed up what I would like to see from a new ThunderCats series - however, I have to say I thought the original was close to perfect (well, at least season 1 was! ;)), and have hardly ever thought “Oh, if only”…
The one thing I would add is that, if it gets made, a new TCats show needs to have a great music score, with recurring themes that really evoke emotions. Music is very important, and the original show had an amazingly exciting and memorable score - I’m sure I can’t be the only kid who would hum the Thundertank’s theme whilst pushing the toy along, or Tygra’s theme whilst playing with his figure - you get the idea! 
For me, this is the one big area where the new He-Man cartoon fell down - the score for me was so forgettable when compared with the original.
