What was the demolisher creature based on do you think???

Having re-watched it recently, you can clearly see stripes on his neck and upper back but they don’t look vey tiger-like! Initially I thought he was a dog, and I have heard some1 refer to his as a Heyena but I now believe he may be based on a tasmanian devil as they have a few stripes on them and are sort of a wild-dog like creature!

CORRECTION: I was thinking of the tasmanian tiger which is a now extinct relative of the tasmanian devil but it had the stripes (v.similar to demolishers) however was a large marsupial despite looking like a dog!

FURTHER INVESTIGATION: There does exist a striped Hyena, however looking at pics of it, the stripes on the tasmanian tiger still seem to fit better. Having said that…th demolisher does laugh a lot! Hyena’s are known for their laughter! lol

Those are the ceratures I thought of when I first saw him, either a hyena or a tasmanian devil (more a hyena though).

When I learned about the tasmanian tiger, I thought that could have been the animal they based him in, but I doubt those brilliant writers, who couldn’t even follow a consistent logic throught the eps, knew about tasmanian tigers lol (j/k… although I really don’t think they knew about that animal)

I’m feeling a bit smug about this one…having looked it up on wikepedia of all places, they say “A dog-like being, resembling a Thylacine” which is the scientific name for the tasmanian tiger! WOOP! WOOP! lol. Seems we need to give the writers more credit guys!..unless its just pure coincidence of course, but nice to know some1 agrees with me! :slight_smile:
