I wonder.. What is the point? What is the diffrence from when he swings it three times and say it and other times it just grows large at once?
When he says, “Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats Ho!” he is summoning the eye of Thundera, just like the original series.
When he just says, “ThunderCats Ho!” he is lengthening the sword, just like he did in the original series when he just shouted, “Ho!”
Apparantly there were some people who thought the word “Ho” should not be used at all because of what it means in today’s society. They wanted it completely out of the show. So I think they compromised when he called out to lengthen the sword this time, instead of just shouting, “Ho!” he is now shouting, “ThunderCats Ho!” for the same effect.
Sorry if its connotations are obvious, but I honestly don’t know what it implies. Anyone mind telling me?

I wouldnt have even watched the new series if they would have taken out the “HO!” …I got excited like a little kid on Christmas morning during ep1 when Lion-O got the sword back and and started with the “Thunder, ..Thunder..” …it was freakin awesome!!
It wouldn’t have been Thundercats without the battle cry. Glad the producers fought for it.
I always believed that when Lion-O says “Thundercats, Ho!” that it charges up the sword with power, but it also, in a way, strengthens the other Thundercats. Whenever he did it in the old series, it would give the others the strength and resolve to break out of whatever trap they were in and keep fighting.
So when he does it three times, it gets even more power, and the other ThunderCats get even better at fighting.
I think it’s spelled ho. Hoe is a gardening tool.

It might not have helped their cause to have Larry Kenney keep joking that Cheetara was the ThunderCats ho. 
That makes no sense in that it always grows the same size. What would be the deal if he can ither swing it trice to make it big or just say chant to get the same effect.

In this sense i think someone jsut made it faster to say whore by saying hoe.
Why doesn’t it make sense? I said that the more times he swings and says Thunder, it grows more powerful. I wasn’t saying anything about length. He also doesn’t actually need to say anything to make the sword grow to full length.
Not saying anything - Sword of Omens can grow to full length, but has minimal power.
Saying “ThunderCats, Ho!” - Sword of Omens gets charged up, grows to full length, and strengthens the other ThunderCats.
Swinging and saying “Thunder” - The Sword of Omens grows a certain amount and gets charged each time. Only takes three times for it to reach full length, but any chanting after full growth probably charges it up even more, so saying “ThunderCats, Ho!” at the end gets a big power boost. This may also be the only way to get the Cat signal and summon the ThunderCats. It’s also the best way to strengthen spirit and morale of the other 'Cats and increase their power.
This is just speculations though, which i find makes no real sense. It has it’s full power all the time as times when he only says “HOOOO” it can still do all the same stuff.
I CAN understand though that the Cat sign might require the poses and the chant. The thing about Power is just wrong.

Why else have it there? If they try to make a tv series at least dont have plot holes and other random stuff that does not make sense.
That just brings up the question of why it was in the OS.
When Claudus raised the sword and shouted “ThunderCats, Ho!” before fighting the lizards and knocking down Grune, you can clearly see the Sword of Omens sparking with electricity. The battle cry clearly does have an effect on the sword, and I would assume that lightning means more power than no lightning. Otherwise, there really would be no point to Claudus stopping for a moment to raise the sword and shout that, even after it was already at full length.
And based on that, I am guessing that swinging and shouting Thunder has a similar effect in addition to causing the sword to grow. Otherwise, it truly would be pointless and stupid, but Lion-O does it anyway, so there must be some in universe reason for going through that ritual besides just summoning the cat signal, which would be pointless if all the 'Cats are there already.
I’m also basing my theory that the chanting and the Cat signal strengthen the other 'Cats on the original series. Whenever the ThunderCats were in some kind of trap, Lion-O would swing the sword three times and summon the signal, and then you’d see their eyes light up and they would somehow get their strength back, escape from the jaws of defeat and beat their adversary. The effect may not be as noticeable in the new series, but there may come a situation where it is more noticeable.
These are my theories. I’m basing them off of evidence of what we see in the show. Until a character says something to confirm my theories, they aren’t facts. You don’t have to agree with them, but that doesn’t make wrong them unless there’s some evidence within the show that contradicts my theories. So if you do think my theory is wrong, please provide some kind of evidence proving that.

Yes, exactly. It’s like a mystical battle cry that can rally the troops. Since it’s magic, it could really be strengthening the Cats.
You still don’t take into account what i’ve said. I never said you are wrong just that i don’t think it makes sense.
We all know that in the OS the eye is the source of their power. IF the eye is gone so is the thundercats. What you still have not answered be as you have just preached about what you think is that sometimes the sword still has full power and all of the other abilities even by saying simple stuff. How does that come into play.
As someone other mentioned i don’t think anything of this was planned. As much as people debate about the Zelda timeline. It is never explained and people may speculate all they want but there is no real answer.
