Yeah, I was watching that one too. I think its because its pretty rare to just find Lion O with Snarf in decent to good condition. It also has a lot more appeal to get the two together in a collection than a single Lion O and the over-sized and odd looking Snarf companion fig. I haven’t seen too many of these around Ebay either so I’m sure that plays into it. I also thought the orange hair was the rarer of the two?
Well if you look at the quality of the card and bubble it is very nice and looks to be in mint condition. As far as rarity it seems like you get half red half orange. I haventy seen an oranged haired for a while but I use to see them pop up more than the red ones.
Its quite a shock to see the Liono and Snarf go for so much because the market right now is down quite a bit IMO. Then again it just might be me since i dont track Ebay as much as i used to.
Weren’t there more red hair Lion O’s then say either the maroon or orange? Most of the single ones I’ve seen on Ebay are the red hair variations, especially in the 2nd version LionO’s assortment. The only time I saw an orange hair variation was either an 8 back or rarely the LionO/Snarf set and thats going back about 8-9 years. Wow, I’m feelin pretty old now…
Red is more common but being packaged with the LionO and Snarf is rare. For a while all I saw was orange haired LionO and Snarf and very few red haired samples. Out of all the colors though, rarity i think is like this: maroon, orange and then red. I currently own a very rare 8 back LionO with red hair…its rare because most 8 backs came with orange hair so more than likely that sample was made towards the end of series 1
I too was amazed at the going price because the market for Thundercats is down, way down, imho. Just last month 2 MOC laser sabers in pretty good condition went for $5.00 each. $5 bucks!:o
This is a pretty good insight on which item(s) are on collectors “hot list”, despite sales being down. I think now is the best time for collectors to try and get the rare figures, since they are going for less then usual.
Once the movie comes out… I am thinking sales will be up, way up.

I put up on auction a loose “Cruncher” figure with a buy it now of 9.99. Someone opted out of the buy it now and the final bid price was $28 go figure.
