What is a ThunderCat?
I seriously don’t understand what a ThunderCat is. We know that all our heroes are ThunderCats and they are distinct from the general population of Thundera who were known as Thunderians. But when Cheetara as a child said that she didn’t have a clan, Jaga told her she was now a part of the ThunderCat clan. So what exactly is a ThunderCat? And I would assume the Kittens are now ThunderCats too?
Kit screamed “ThunderCats!” in the last episode, so I think the twins are TCs as well.
in this series, im assuming “Thundercat” is just the term they use for the entire race of cats
Nah, I don’t think so. Like the topic-starter mentioned…they made it pretty clear that the ThunderCats are a “clan” of Thunderans. (or something along those lines, and separate from regular Thunderans) 
In the OS Thundercats were nobility weren’t they? The same might hold true in the NS, the new thunderians in “Thundercats Ho” were made Thundercats by Lion-o, so it apparently didn’t have to be something someone had to be born into.
Im pretty sure the crew answered this, but I dont want to comb the archives to find it. ;););)
If memory serves, the Thundercats are the heros. Not just any old civilians.
Does anybody save all of the questions the crew answers?
yeah the crew just said that Thundercats are heroes. Clerics are probably automatically considered Thundercats when they’re accepted and the Twins were probably annointed when they joined the group.
I don’t think so because when Lion-O went back in time through the Time Capsule, he met two guards who wore the Eye of Thundera. I don’t think they were nobles, just soldiers. In Exodus when they were on the ship, Jaga made mention to Lion-O “The ThunderCat nobles gathered here” or something like that. It made an assumption that they were the nobles among the ThunderCats, indicating to me that there were also ThunderCats who were not nobles.
As for the crew saying the ThunderCats are heroes - that’s a fine enough answer for children but seems a little too simplistic to me. How do they define a hero? And Lion-O and Tygra were considered ThunderCats as children when I doubt anyone considered them heroes. So I think they need a better definition than that.
One of my biggest complaints has been since the NS began is that we have no idea what a Thundercat is. I would think that if you were trying to capture the imaginations of 6-12 year olds, you might tell them this up front. Unfortunately, this series prefers just simple violence over substance,

I don’t think it’s a real clan, like a family with blood-ties and rites. I like to think of being a part of the “Thundercats’ clan” as being apart of Thundera’s great warrior spirit. You are brothers in arms! That sort of thing.
Thundercats are warriors! Thundercats are heros! Thundercats are brothers! Hooray!!!
