Hypothetically, what if Lion-O never aged as rapidly as he did and remained the young Cub he was at the beginning of “Exodus” throughout the series. In my opinion, seeing a young boy do the things that Lion-O did as an “Adult” would have been pretty interesting to watch. Also, it could have added more in-depth connection between him and the other Thundercats; his relationship with Snarf could have been more fleshed out, we could have seen a legitimate friendship between Lion-O and the Wily-Twins, and by having Tygra, Panthro and Cheetara being a generation older than him, we could have had him come to see the latter three as his surrogate parents.
It would have been interesting since he seemed capable of fighting even at that age, but thundercats is an 80s cartoon so the hero cannot be a child. He must b an adult so h can teach you life lessons and not cause the “bad touch” alarms when he fights villains lik the mutants or Mumm-ra, LOL
I thought in Exodus he was barely able to lift the sword and stated something to the affect of “the sword kind of did it for me”. I don’t recall him being trained/able to fight much.
It certainly would have changed many dynamics. Perhaps we would have seen more of Tygras leadership and a more gradual “passing of the torch” as far as responsibilities goes.
Yes, it would have made the series more interesting. It would have been kind of hilarious if little boy lion-o defeated Mumm-ra. XD In the episode where he starts aging backward like benjamin button it would have been a much better episode of Mumm-ra had been the episode’s villain.
That leaves the question. It took them ten years to reach third earth from thundera in the pilot but every time later in the series when they go back and forth between the planets it only takes a few hours. It’s understandable for Mumm-ra since he can TELEPORT and time means NOTHING to him anyway but the thundercats?!
Well, to be fair; the Thundercats’ spaceship was pretty damaged from the Mutants’ initial attack in the Pilot episode, so, it’s probably safe to say that the Thundercats’ subsequent interstellar vehicles were able to do what the Royal Thunderian Flagship was supposed to be able to do before it was attacked. Remember; they were headed for a different galaxy that was much further away and their dialogue implied that the suspension capsules were a last resort type of thing.
