When I finished all the Thundercats boxsets I looked back at Thundercats HO! to see what year Season 2 started and I was amazed when I saw it say 1987. I checked to see what the date was on Fond Memories and ot said 1895, so what happened to 1986? If I have been seeing things then I apologize but if I haven’t then why is there no 1986?

1986 was probably the year they were putting season 2 (or 2, 3 and 4) together. Then the episodes aired in 1987 and 1988.
Likely during 1986 Thundercats season 1 went into syndication in the US.
It takes time for animation to be produced, and sent back
to the studio, so most of that missing time is actual time
used waiting on the cels to get to the studio.
They were also working on TigerSharks I think during
that time, don’t quote me on that, it’s just a guess.
It was probably Silverhawks rather than TigerSharks…didn’t TigerSharks start airing in the early 90s?
They went into pre-production on a show called “The Comic Strip”
in late 1986 at some point.
Much like Jem and the Holograms that aired in a block of shows,
so did Tigersharks as part of “The comic Strip”.
“The comic Strip” aired in 1987 and consisted of “The Mini-Monsters” “Karate Kat”,“The Street Frogs” , and “The Tigersharks” . Each episode had two of the four shows, and seemed random at the time.
While I can’t say it was the same for everyone, my local TV station aired each of these shows seperately own their own, back in 1985 to 1986, then
They were then combined together. I think sometime in March or May that I remember seeing “The comic Strip” when I came home from school. It was on everyday, so it had to have been syndicated.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure on the exact Rankiin Bass production time-line.
I did know that Silverhawks, and Thundercats were Pacific Animation productions, while the rest were done here in the States. My guess is they
were in production of multiple shows at once.
