Hi i was wondering what changes would you like to see in the new series?
I personally would like to see a more brutal Safari Joe (straight forward bullet and no special bullets) and more challenging foes in the mutants would love to see Monkian take down a Thundercat or a group of warrior maidens in a battle for ‘king’ of the tree tops.
Well, we still don’t know for sure what direction they’re taking the story in the new version. By the looks of it, it seems to have some “cyberpunk” influences, judging by character designs.
Cyberpunk is a diferent sort of science fiction than the one we used to get in the vintage cartoon. The orignal ThunderCats had lots of hi-tech at their disposal (the Cat’s Lair, the Battle Tank, and many other things), but they felt more like the type of tech you see in a superhero comic, rather than the one much darker and raw from a cyberpunk-oriented story. Of course, I could be wrong here, but it’s the vibe that these initial images we’ve seen of the cartoon had given to me.
So, going by that, I expect more devastated landscapes, war against machines and robots, a more militarized population, and the like. I could be wrong, but that’s what the new character designs are telling me.
I already like most of the changes they’ve made so far. I LOVE Lion-O’s design..those blue eyes are amazing. Snarf not talking is also cool. Its gonna take some time to get used to Panthro’s size and sideburns though. I would like an explanation on why and how Earth became 3rd Earth.

More Grune!!! The most under utilized bad guy from the original series. They need to dump the Lunataks and heavily feature the baddest cat on the planet
I hope they really stick to his original design as he was pretty menacing.
As for Safari Joe, I think he was great as he was. I don’t see any need for a personality change in him. He was ruthless, cunning, and loud! He wasn’t afraid to tell you about how great of a hunter he was.
Less Lunataks, less stumbling bumbling Monkian and Jackalman
More Grune, Joe, and Vultureman (but make him serious this time, w/o the skirt).
No offense, but I really hope this isn’t the case. We should be having battles against Mumm-Ra, Mutants, Grune, and maybe some new baddies instead of robots and a militarized population (although a couple of episodes of a battle against an alien robot army similar to the Sentinels would be interesting). It could work in a few episodes but not as the predominant theme.
[FONT=Tahoma]I always thought that MUMM-RA’s design was perfect - really menacing and creepy. I hope his design hasn’t changed much. MA-MUTT could do with a bit of a makeover though - perhaps more of a ‘Doberman’ or ‘Rottweiler’ type hellhound would make the creature more sinister.[/FONT]

The Mutants should be made more serious and more sinister… something similar to the Lunatacs of Season 2
Monkian’s and Jackalman’s goofiness should be limited…:slythe:

More of Safari Joe ! Perhaps have him hunt everyone from Thundercats to Mutants

More Joe, Grune, serious Berzerkers (fingers crossed for the unreleased character from the 80’s to appear bolstering the there ranks)
and yeah the mutants need to more of a threat with truely gripping battles (kid friend of course heh heh)
Oh yeah, one more thing.
Capt. Cracker NEEDS to come back. Shiner can steer his spaceship into a black hole. He always looks like he ate something he was deathly allergic to, or rubbed poison ivy all over his face.
Cracker on the other hand, with the static in his speech and the parrot were great comedy relief. Not menacing in the least like some other enemies, but great comedy relief characters.
How? It was never revealed other than Mumm-Ra saying hes been there since it was 1st Earth (our present Earth). Some kind of apocalypse happend and it should be explained.
Likely its to do with an “Age” so to speak (like the ages spoken of in Tolkein novels).
As long as they don’t bring back the cyborg teddy bears, it’s gonna be fine I think. Never liked these.
And Mumm-Rana… another colosally bad idea, IMO.
