One of my favorite scenes from the original cartoon is from the start of Lord Of The Snows, when the meteorite crosses various villages and characters before crashing.. We see the Warrior Maidens, Berbils and even the Living Ooze! Awesome!

Jaga ordering everyone to their suspension capsules and saying goodbye in âExodusâ. Powerful stuff.
Grune and Jaga setting the heavens aflame in âThe Ghost Warriorâ.
Discussion of the Code and Tygraâs âWhy all the gloom?â pep talk in âTrial of Strengthâ.
In âThe Crystal Queenâ, Lion-O rationalizing the hat and coat as the silver lining in the misfortune of Queen Tartaraâs goons. I donât think thatâs what Jaga had in mind, Lion-O.
Snarf saying good-bye in âFelinerâ (before he comes right back). That beat where he recoils from Lion-Oâs hand is great.
Wiz-Ra bidding Cheetara farewell in âDimension Doomâ.
Lion-Oâs confrontation with the Berserkers in âHo! Part 1â, and the followup with âthe mighty Panthroâ at the beginning of âHo! Part 2â.
The discovery that SkyTomb is not a fixed fortress in âMumm-Ra Lives! Part 2â. There is no safe place on Third Earth!
The multi-scene reveal by Mumm-Ra and Lynxo that Elfshima is a sleeping giant in âThe Mask of Gorgonâ. Also, right before that, the unsettling meeting between Willa and Mumm-Nayda.
Lynxo brooding in the dark with the Screen down in âTogether We Standâ, and Bengali pointing out the window at Pumyra when he finally raises it. The following scene (Pumyra warning Bengali that itâs a trap and his confrontation with Berserkers) is also great, but it drags on into quite a long sequence.
Tygra rationalizing his behavior to Lynxo and Lion-O in âCrystal Canyonâ (âEver since I was a kid, I was shy,â and âIs Lion-O a slave to Sword of Omens?â).
In âTelepathy Beamâ, itâs tough. The obvious choice is Cheetaraâs conversation with Lynxo about listening to her heart, and the subsequent telekinetic explosion. But I almost prefer the previous scene, in which Cheetara doubts herself when the Feliner is in distress, and Lynxo is forced to both save the mission and talk her down.
Mumm-Ra brushing off the Guardian in âKey to Thunderaâ. Key?! What key? Iiiiii need no key! Bad move, Mummsie.
Mumm-Ra sneaking into the Lair as a fly and annoying Panthro in âBracelet of Powerâ.
Hachimanâs battle with Mumm-Ra in âThe Jade Dragonâ (though the previous scene, in which he calls on the Ancient Spirits of Good to arm him, is also great).
Lion-O leaping out of the ThunderStrike to break through the forcefield at the Churning Rocks in âReturn to Thundera! Part 5â.
A final tie in âWell of Doubtâ. Lion-Oâs first meeting with Tass as he exits the aircraft is an important little scene that sets the tone for what the New Thundera is going to be. Toward the end of the episode, Jagara snapping Lion-O out of his self-doubting funk is similarly inspiring, though itâs more of a soliloquy than a scene.
Iâm sure there are others for me, but these are the ones that sprang to mind with a quick glance at an episode list. There seems to be a bias in me for the latter half of the show. HmmmmâŚ
All scenes in the ThunderCats-HO! movie!
There are SOOOO many. But if I had to pick two:
The whole scene in âSpitting Imageâ where Mumm-ra creates a clone of Panthro. Scary stuff, especially whne the clone first awakens!
In the âCrystal Queenâ, when the birdâs singing shatters the ice block. Lion-O looks really mad at that point because he doesnât say any dialogues and gets straight down to business.
How about in The Beacon of Ravage Island when Mumm-Ra demonstrates the beaconâs powers on Slithe and Slithe warns Mumm-Ra:âNo one can control my mind!â and Jackalman replies: âNot even Slithe can control his mind!â Makes me laugh every time!!
Difficult for me to pick. Hereâs a few:
âExodusâ, the suspension capsules/Jaga saying goodbye, agreed.
âThe Slaves Of Castle Plun-Darrâ - the debut of the individual character themes as Tygra and Cheetara take out Monkian and Jackalman
âPumm-Raâ - when he goes sneaking round the Lair, sabotaging everything and looking for the sword.
Annointment Trials - pretty much everything.
âThe Astral Prisonâ - when Lion-O tells Jaga that he is stranded there with him
And speaking of âThe Mumm-Ra Berbilâ, this whole episode is great, and very spooky, the way Mumm-Ra takes over each Thundercatâs mind, and when he puts the goggles on, you really do think Lion-Oâs all for it this time.
âDivide And Conquerâ - I love how this episode strays from the series formula in the best possible way - the Kittens free themselves with their own ingenuity, Tygra defeats the Giantaur and escapes by himself, itâs Tygra, not Lion-O, who rescues Cheetara, and then they all go to Panthroâs aid. Itâs more realistic than the usual Lion-O centric format.
The end of âFelinerâ - I love Snarf, and even though I know heâs not really going, I still well up when heâs there with his case packed. And we do get to see how much love there really is between Lion-O and Snarf.
âTrappedâ - one of the most imaginative uses for the catchphrase, to guide Tygra and Cheetara home.
âEye Of The Beholderâ - when Lion-O has the idea for the duplicate sword.
âFond Memoriesâ - Lion-O fighting with his alter ego.
My favorite from âEye of the Beholderâ is when Panthro is swinging the replica of the Sword of Omens at Tygra and the latter thinks itâs the real thing. 
In that scene, Tygra tells Panthro to be careful with âthat thingâ⌠so much disrespect to the SoO
My favourite comedy moment was Lion-O apparently nearly drowning due to âcrampâ (hence the fantastic quote of âSnarf! Iâve got⌠cramp!â), crisis music hits, Snarf dives in and Lion-O just headlocks him under the water.. I remember asking Larry Kenney about that and he said he doesnât remember - which is a damn shame because it was typical 80s cartoon cheese.
In terms of great moments, the Tygra âGarden of Delightsâ scene where he first eats the fruit is so well done, being a hidden drug reference and everything. Iâm also a huge fan of the moment in âThunderCats Hoâ where MummRa opens the talisman (to Jagaâs pleas not to) to see himself and the whole scary mountain collapse was a great climax to a pretty awesome film. But best of all is the Jaga dying scene - so well done and that piece of music by Bernard Hoffer is just superb.
Right with you on âThe Garden Of Delightsâ. This was one of those episodes I got more out of as an adult than I did as a child, because watching it through older eyes, the fact of it being the just-say-no-to-drugs episode was more obvious.
Only slight snag with the climax of âThundercats Ho!â is that Slithe and Jackalman run inside the mountain, which promptly explodes, and yet when we next see them in âMumm-Ra Livesâ they havenât a mark on them. After the whole spiel of everyone thinking Mumm-Ra The Ever Living is no more, are we supposed to believe the much more mortal Slithe and Jackalman werenât even scratched in that explosion?
One of my favorite scenes is from a deleted one in âExodusâ when Slithe tries to take the Sword from young Lion-O who declared, âyou shall not have it while I live.â The mutant hissed back then answered gleefully, âthat would suit me just fine.â
Yeah, that is an awesome moment! And anybody remember Lion-O & Snarf playing kick the bucket in Safari Joe?
Or Snarf kicking Dirgeâs @ss in The Demolisher? Great stuff!!
