I thought “Plants vs. Zombies” sounded like the stupidest thing in the world… now I’m addicted. Darn you Pop Can!!!

Excited that Green Lantern came out on DVD today. Got it on Blu Ray, bought a Blu Ray player while I was at it, now gotta figure how to set the thing up. Was against getting a Blu Ray Player but now all the special features are coming out on Blu Rays but not DVD’s. Evil marketing people. :sneaky:
Yes, it is very addictive and let me know if you get past the Zomboni level. 
Slithor and I got back a few hours ago and we’re exhausted from all the walking.
Which is the Zomboni level? I’ve fought the Zomboni in both levels and mini-games, he’s not too difficult, you put a spike strip down and when he hits it, he’s done. If you have the metal strip to add to the spikes, the spikes will last several turns, without it, the Zomboni takes out the strip with one hit.
I won the game, I’m now in a second round of the same game where the crazy neighbor picks 3 random objects for me each time. I’ve won all the puzzles and all but two of the mini-games.
It’s the level that has the ice lanes and the Zombies run over the plants on sleds. I had more problems with that than the boss level.
The Zomboni’s leave the ice trail with their machines. The Bobsleds don’t come unless there is ice there to come on. So you’ll want to set your spike strips up as far back as you can.
Here’s a tip for racking up the points. Play the “Last Stand” mini game, and set your board up like this. You won’t be able to plant all your coin plants to start with, you want to plant your stuff on the right first, but it really works. You will get to the point where you’ll need to replace the garlics each time and you’ll likely have to replace a pumpkin if you notice it’s severely eaten away at. My only other suggestion would be to move the coin magnets one space to the left. Anyway, I made this screen cap from the game I played the other night after finding a similar one online that gave me the idea. If you don’t have 10 slots yet, just use the puff shroom for the double pea shooter and I actually think a single pea shooter will likely be enough. Anyway, it’s the fastest way to get coins.

Got a Blu-Ray player a couple years ago. We’ve been in the process of slowly replacing the DVD copies of our favorite movies and TV shows with the Blu-Ray editions. I kind of feel like Tommy Lee Jones’ character in Men In Black whenever a format change comes out: “Looks like I’ll have to buy The White Album again.” :rolleyes:
I actually held out for a while when they had those format wars between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, as I wanted to wait to see who would win out. No sense being stuck with a format that would end up being obsolete in less than a year. I knew the time was right when Blu-Ray won and they announced the release of both Akira and the original Star Trek in the format shortly thereafter. That’s when I sad to myself, “Yep. I think it’s time to get a Blu-Ray player.” And then later we realized in order to get the most out of it, we needed an HDTV as well. So we found ourselves jumping headfirst into the next generation of home entertainment in the space of a month.
The Chili Pepper can clear an ice lane if back-to-back Zombonis come and manage to make a lane for a bob sled.
That was an addictive game. Took me a couple days to beat it on the Xbox.

Far right. So as soon as they enter the board, the spikes stop them. The upgraded spikes work best as they last longer.
And if they get through, a chili pepper can be placed anywhere on that row to melt the ice path.

mcss is right, as far right as you can and try to use the upgrade if you can, if they get through, red chili pepper is good.
I don’t understand what the iPad is or does.

The iPad is a device from Apple, like a tablet computer with applications like a SmartPhone has.
My brother-in-law has one and my niece loves to play “Angry Birds” on it. 
If you hate Zomboni’s, don’t play the Survival Roof Hard Mode game. Yikes! That was NOT fun! Amazingly I beat it but I was sure I was going to lose when they started running over everything.
Right now I’ve been so busy for the past few weeks, I’m lucky if I can get online for a few minutes a day. I have so many e-mails I have to reply back to, I know I have to write back to Lord Slithor and I haven’t gotten the chance yet. So many posts to catch up on, etc. I also have the flu and it’s bad. Having my step daughter move back home with me and my husband has kept me so preoccupied, and also my mother being very sick doesn’t help either. I’m very thrilled that my step daughter is home but life has been going by so fast, that I’m actually falling behind in most of my classes. Luckily my business math class is doing well since I got an “A” on my midterm. But my other classes are averaging a “C”. I really need to pull them back up.
I would give anything to have just a half an hour alone with nothing to disturb me with. It’s quiet right now but I’m just too tired to take advantage of it. I need sleep.
But on the plus side, I got my step daughter’s driving permit renewed and I’ve started to teach her how to drive, that and I also got the ball rolling on getting her back into college. I got her financial aid paperwork filed and this week she has to take her placement exams to get her enrolled for the spring semester. So I’ve been a very busy lynx

I think my cat is going into labor and the kitties are about to be born soon :eek:
She’s in her nesting box I got ready for her and she’s actually in it and is starting to lick herself. She hasn’t eaten much today and for the past two days has been following me around like a shadow and being affectionate to me. If I was to guess, I think Lynxie is going to have atleast four kittens from what I was able to feel.
When the kittens are born, I will post a few pics of them 
Here are my tips from spending way too many hours on Plants vs. Zombies…
Save up your coins to buy the extra slots for plants to use. You can upgrade until you get 10 slots. Once you’ve beaten the game and play it again, the neighbor chooses 3 random plants for you and I find they’re most often not what I want, so having 7 more options is great.
Buy yourself time to plant sunflowers and try to get two rows up. First thing you do, buy the rake, it’ll save you a little time. The other thing you do, choose your mine as an option and when you see the second zombie come in after the first got offed by the rake, plant a mine at the other end closest to the house and keep working on planting your sunflowers, waiting until you really have to start planting shooting plants. I don’t use mines at night, I just keep planting those tiny shrooms that don’t require any suns. Three of those in a row will take out a cone hat zombie. It’s especially important to get those sunflowers planted at night.
In the back yard with the pool, the best weapon is that cattail. Similar to the cactus, it shoots more frequently and into every lane. So once the balloon zombies start coming, you don’t need to plant any cactus zombies if you’ve got cattail zombies in the water. If you’ve got diver zombies, put up rocks in front of the cattails or protect them with the jack-o-lanterns. With dolphin zombies, use the tall rocks, and plant them well ahead of them so you can plant more cattails. I’m in really good shape if I get six cattails planted. I’ll have sunflowers in the back for spots, cattails in the next six, and either have the cattails protected with jack-o-lanterns or have tall rocks in front of them. Since they shoot into every lane, they really help ward off walking zombies as well. But once I get one or two cattail zombies up, I’ll try to plant shooting plants on the ground depending on the difficulty of the level.
Always pay attention to what zombies you see at the end, those are the only zombies you’ll see during a level. Choose your plants according to them.
If you see the ice machine zombies, definitely pick up spike strips and the metal spikes to put on them and start putting those up early at the far end furthest from the house where the zombies enter at. Those upgrades will last several ice machines whereas ones without the metal spikes will be gone with one hit from them.
The rooftop I hate. I hate having to put out pots to plant plants, especially when it goes down to only giving me 3 rows. Always include the pot when you play it (you get the pot after your first round on the rooftop). If you see catapult zombies will be in the round or bungee cord zombies, most definintely include the protective plants. I only put them in the second row from each end as this is the minimum usage with the most protection as they only protect the plants immediately around them. So as an example, I’ll use a lower case p for plant and a capital S or Plant Protector. All these plants are protected from catapults and bungee zombies…

8.High Jumper Zombies can not jump over tall rocks.
Watermelon plants are definitely the best catapult plants and if you upgrade them with the blue melon that freezes the zombies, it splatters over into the rows beside and slows them down as well. They’re just more expensive to get up to. Sometimes I’ll replace lettuce pults with watermelon pults later once I earn more suns.
Just like with the yard, on the roof, start out with the rake and use your mines.
