WETA should do a Mocap animated Thundercats movie.

After being convinced by Avatar, some new stills for TinTin and Rise of the Apes, i think WETA should do a Motion Capture animated movie based on the show.

It could make our heroes believable including the villains and monsters plus Third-Earth. It won’t bridge the uncanny valley because WETA has gotten rid of robotic acting like seen in most mocap animated movies, use facial expressions/emotions that capture the actor’s face and of course would get rid of the dead eye proble which has been solved since Avatar.

That’s a good idea! Maybe WB will green light the project in 2012, probably ready for a summer 2013 release.

Have you seen Avatar and Rise of the Apes to the new trailers/stills to TinTin? WETA is amazing and would be perfect for this mocap project idea.

Do you think it would be better than Zemeckis’s efforts?

I like Zemeckis’s work with Beowulf but that animation is outdated, compared to what we have today. Maybe he could produce the movie,I think this franchise has trilogy potential like LOTR. My two top choices to director are: Zack Snyder and Rupert Wyatt.

Yes I have! Its pretty good if you like CGI animation (Tin Tin), but I prefer the live action-like Avatar graphics. I’m guessing you can’t wait for that “Tin Tin” movie to come out =)
