Nice to finally have you on officially! ![]()
Thank you for allowing me to join the team. I’m looking forward to helping work on the website and podcast in any way I can. ![]()
So, first of all, just to update you on what I’m doing.
During editing the Bernie Hoffer, I played about with a few things and found the volume of the interviewing to be much better than the previous ones. Because it’s a telephone interview, you have to play about with editing software to get the best out of them. Generally ‘volumising’ the other interviews I did, I found the interviews to be much more clearer and easier to hear. However, my voice jumps up a ton and it goes over the ‘limit’ that audio should. So I solved that by normalising it by 85% - cutting the volume slightly again but still jacking it up enough to make it clear.
I’ve put the interviews in a seperate thread - I think they sound much louder and clearer. But I need feedback on them before Manny goes and uploads them to the website. ![]()
And finally, I was emailed by the Executive Vice President of Buchwald (agency of Peter Newman and Gerrainne Raphael) Scott Linder the other day informing me that he was the agent that got Larry, Lynne, Peter and Gerrainne on Thundercats. He said he’d be willing to help me if I told him a bit about the website and such - so I’ve done so. I’ll inform you if I hear anything back from him.
I had emails forwarded by an agent for Buchwald a few weeks ago to Peter and Gerrainne for requests to do a telephone interview but heard nothing back. But hopefully, I’ll be able to get Peter Newman who is my main priority right now. I’m also in the process of sending a letter to Earle Hyman to his known-U.S address. That’ll take a while before he gets back to me.
Again, thank you. ![]()
Chris here…
Hey Nick, welcome to the team from me too! I was one of the folks who really pushed for you to be added to the team - as I’ve said to you before, you clearly have a gift for interviewing, and I think you will make an amazing addition to this site! ![]()
I may have some other interview contacts for you to chase up if you were interested - these are contacts that both Mark (Grizzlor) and myself have made, but have neither of us had the time to pursue properly. The two that spring to mind are Peter Lawrence and Stephen Perry, both of whom were writers who contributed a number of episodes to the show - I believe I have contact e-mails for both of those guys… ![]()
Also, have you ever tried to contact Leonard Starr (ThunderCats’ head writer) for an interview? I tried to make contact with Leonard a long time ago, but never got anywhere, although I did receive a nice e-mail from one of his representatives. However, given that you have the Midas Touch, he may well talk to you! ![]()
Also, somewhere I think I have an e-mail for Lee Danacher, who was basically in charge of directing the voice actors - I believe Lynne Lipton referenced her several times in her interview. Again, I e-mailed Lee and never heard back from her, but once again, you may succeed where I’ve failed! ![]()
If any of this sounds of interest, by all means feel free to LMK and I’ll happily pass on the info I have - all I’d ask in return is, as with Bernie Hoffer there are some questions I’d love to hear these guys answer, so if we’d be able to colloborate on those questions as we did with the Bernie Hoffer interview you’ve just completed, that would be excellent! ![]()
Take care… ![]()
Hey Chris. Yeah, I read through that thread about me. Thanks - I appreciate the oppurtunity and such. ![]()
Peter Lawrence, Lee Danacher & Stephen Perry - Yes! I think we could do with interviewing them, especially Lee Danacher. Peter and Lee should be our main priority and focus right now - if we don’t get them, let’s try Stephen.
Leonard Starr - I did try contact him regarding an interview for my documentry. After much stalling and passing information to an indvidual by the name of Charles Pelto, I was basically told (nicely) that he was unwilling. I could always try again - I did actually contact Charles again to ask if I could interview Leonard for the website. But nothing. Pass me an email, though, and I’ll send another. Persistence is the key. ![]()
I’m fine with getting questions from all of you - I’ll open a thread saying when I’m holding the interview and ask for questions and such. Put them in and I’ll stick them in my questions file for the interview.
Welcome Nick…looking forward to more interviews, how you do it??? I dont know but they seem to make people come back for more. Wish I could be more active on the podcast and with interviews but I must say that IM absolutely loaded right now and getting my house in order after a move is not easy. And Im a supervisor now and in charge of a medical clinic so its crazy.
Anyways…another welcome!!!
Hey,
Getting interviews is something I just picked up - but mostly, it’s through the agents. So for Lynne Lipton, I sent an email to a contact in the agency saying who I was, who I was apart of, what I wanted and when I wanted it. I then asked the person to forward the email to Lynne. I got an email back saying it was forwarded - a few days later, received an email from her saying she’d love to do an interview. Got a time negotiated and had to bend to a request that she would not give her telephone number to me but that she had to phone me.
Truth be told, originally? I was put off originally. I’d heard she was an extremely private person but she sent an email from her g-mail account which I sent an email to both a cheetara and her personal one. She responded asking me how I’d gotten her personal email and to delete it - she gave it to me! What?! Funny when I look back on it because she was a wonderful person and she mentioned that Larry had actually spoken to her and put in a kind word for me. But good grief… these interviews, you have to work with them. So I set up a SkpeIn number - got a number assigned in Syracuse which routes to my Skype. It’s awesome and extremely cheap. ![]()
If someone ever seems private and doesn’t want to give their number out, easy. I give them mine - and it doesn’t cost me anything. I’ve heard Peter’s very private so if I get through to him and he requests he phone me, I’ll be happy to do that.
It’s just about wording your email right with a specific request but also being nice.
So I sent Scott an email just to kind of check whether he had received it - he responded by acknowledging (quickly, too, I sent that email a few minutes ago and got one a short while later) that he had received the email but was not able to deal with it due to having a project right now. So I’m going to email him at the end of the month as a reminder - he sounds very serious about helping us get Peter and Gerrainne which can only mean good things for us. ![]()
Hey Nick..
Welcome aboard. Not had chance to chat yet but look forward to doing so.
