If Lio Convoy is reading this, in answer to your question, it is here on the forum where it was said about wave 2 having to be re-done. I made that discovery upon reading what others had written. I was merely stating what had been said and what I’d heard. I don’t claim to know anything more than what gets put out there. Nor do I claim that everything I hear is definitely correct. However, it is quite clear that wave 2 is wrong. You can see it in the pictures. Also, you yourself read the Brian Flynn statement which stated that the figures are incorrect. The fact of the matter is that there is going to be a further delay which at this point is just downwright predictable and unacceptable. Whether the mistakes on these figures will be corrected is anyone’s guess. We’re being led to believe that the corrections will be made and that is why there is a delay. However, we don’t know if that will actually happen and whether that is the reason for the delay. It could be for any number of reasons but all we know is what we’re being told.
I personally hold myself accountable for enabling Super7 getting the ThunderCats license. Their inability to use the original show’s model sheets and production cels for reference really shows that they’ve never cared for this property to begin with, and neither does Warner Bros. ![]()
Regarding the “Mattel” factory.
And to all the people championing Super 7’s factory, a lot of Ultimates figures made at their own factory have also had quality control issues.
It’s also funny how even with their products “allegedly” being made in different factories all their products still have the same waxy glossy plastic…
Lio Convoy Was Right!
Well I’m not impressed with Super7 either but Mattel’s factory has taken the absolute piss with wave 2. We’ve had to wait even longer and they still fucked up to the point that even Super7 are saying they want to make corrections. That could be a red herring but they already fucked up one wave. As well as fucking up when they had the licence.
Yes, he was. I was just answering his question because he came on here and highlighted my comment where I mentioned what had been said about wave 2, asking where it had been said. It’s not like I made it up. It had been said on here before I said it, plus the statement from Brian suggests that they want to re-do the figures. However, I don’t know if they actually will. I’m just mentioning what has been said as opposed to claiming that I know exactly what’s going on.
They can only keep using the factory excuse so often. The issues with Cheetara’s hip and slanted eyes were mentioned back when they showed the original prototypes and put them up for pre-order.
Sure a while back they even said that Wave One had a lot to be with what WB had already approved.
Well yes, after wave 2 they can’t. I agree about Cheerara in wave 3, looks shite. Makes me wonder what caused Super7 to say that they need to correct wave 2 because often they ignore stuff. Well WB are shit too. Can anyone handling this be trusted?
I would imagine after all the faults with previous waves of figures that they know if they release this wave with that many faults it would probably cause a lot of hassle with refunds, replacements and having to make more booster packs.
Well yes but they seem satisfied with sending us that Cheetara. They probably don’t see that figure as incorrect because it’s not much different from how it was advertised. The issues highlighted were there from the start. It just looks like the paint job on the face has gone to shit.
I was to focussed on the slanted eyes and hip to really notice the paint apps but wow the paint around the yes is does not look like the prototype.:cheetara

Yes, it’s the face that makes it look significantly different to the original image. Perhaps Super7 consider the accuarcy of her face to be purely subjective provided that it does resemble the character to an extent. However, it could be that we see a further change but at the moment I really don’t know. Personally, I’m not really digging the face in this picture. I didn’t dig it much in the original either but I do think the eyes are very weird in this one. It could be that she suffered a head injury and became deranged. I could see this version of her swapping teams actually.

And here we go…

Looks like the packaged shots of Waves 2 & 3 are “mostly final” around 95% completed…
He did specifically mention correcting Mumm-Ra’s arms.
Reversing arms seems plausible with 5% to go before finished product. But fixing Cheetara’s hips & Tyrga’s right arm & headsculpts doesn’t seem likely…
Just the other day Super 7 claimed wave 2 would now be produced at their factoery yet in the video Super 7 say that the Mattel Factory sent pictures of the corrected Mumm-Ra arms. If wave 2 was going to be produced at their factory why would the Mattel factory still be working on the figures. :00
We’ve been getting mixed messages with this.
Yes, on the We Want More ThunderCats IG says they’re early samples, but in the video he says they’re at 95%, are almost final.
I can’t believe Tygra comes out that way.
Well we’ve waited a long time and paid a premium so we want better than that.
Correct, those are not the final ones. Being at 95% does thus mean not finished yes. The arm on Tygra has been corrected.
Regarding the factories, it is unclear as to me where W2 is being made. Depending on how you interpret that W2 mail, it can be anything.
All I would say to them is “Sort it out and hurry up because you’re breaking my balls over here.”
My OCD could never tolerate that Tygra arm, lol.
