Watching cartoon for the first time

As I’ve mentioned in my intro post I wasn’t really exposed to Thundercats when I was a kid as I was living in Alaska at the time and really only got to watch cartoons that our little video rental store had as we didn’t get tv really. I did read the comics that coincided with the 200x He-man stuff though and really enjoyed them. I’ve always wanted to give the cartoon a shot but its got so many episodes i just kept putting it off.

Anyway, I finally took the plunge a few weeks ago and have watched the first 10 episodes so far and have to say I’m having a great times. Somethings are exactly what I was hoping for from it, and other things are very different from what I expected. Its interesting but I’m definitely quickily becoming a fan.

Anyway, I might keep a little log here as I watch through the series. So far I really liked:

The Trouble with Time… this kind of reminded me of the Shokoti episodes from He-man which I loved. One of the best episodes I’ve seen so far of this series.

Mandora: I really like this chick and hope we see her some more. :slight_smile:

Mandora appears in a few. I never cared that much for her personally. Always sounded too much like Cheetara which I thought weird as a kid. Glad you’re liking the show!

My favourite episodes were always the Hachiman episodes. There’s so much depth in that character, about loyalty and the samurai code (Bushido?) that it far does better than anything else. The movie’s a fantastic shout, though, and I think you’ll really enjoy it (split into five episodes for DVD release, ‘ThunderCats Ho!’)

Actually Lynne Lipton voiced most of the female characters including Mandora.
