I like his clothes better in the new version. I hate the hair though. I prefer Panthro to be completely bald like he was in the original with no facial hair. I’m also not fond of the scar over the right eye making him blind in one eye.

The thing I’m most concerned about is going to be his personality. I loved Panthro’s personality in the origina, much as I enjoyed the voice actor’s character in The Cosby Show. Panthro had a definite vibe to him, he was a cool cat and I get the impression from the images I see that the new Panthro make be darker and more edgy. I hope he’s not.

Panthro was always my least favorite character from the orignal series just because of his looks alone. I know thats horrible, but there it is. His new apperance however is much more improved. I mean, who dosnt love mutton chops? Com’on! I also like the scars, and the more brawler type of character then the ninja…

Looking at the credits list for Kevin Michael Richardson for anything I’ve heard him in (he does a lot of animated stuff that I’ve never seen). But here are some things I’ve heard him in…

The Lion Turtle in The Last Airbender - he did have a very cool voice

Captain Gantu in Lilo & Stitch - I also liked his voice then.

I’m feeling good about them choosing him for Panthro.

I like Panthro’s revamp. He looks bigger and stronger, which matches his characteristics. He also looks wilder, more savage; I just hope they don’t turn him in the big-brute stereotype.

My problem steill with him is that, like in teh 80’s cartoons, Pantrho is the least of all that resembles his feline coutnerpart (I had problems back in the 80’s trying to figure out what cat Pantrho was supposed to be, and it was my brother who told me he’s a panther. I should have known judging from his name lol). Even now, Panthro looks like anything but a panther… not even a feline IMO.

I like his look too. He is the strongman of the show and you can actually see it, where in the 80’s all the characters had a generic body. Now he is huge and rugged looking which matches his role as the strongest thundercat. I just hope they keep his personality intact as his sage wisdom coupled with his ability to break bada$$ was cool.

I do find it ironic that he and his feline counterpart don’t share many characteristics. Maybe that doesn’t play into the genetics of the thundercats?

Besides Cheetara having a cheeta’s speed, nothing else correlated between the TCs and their feline counterparts.

For example, many people have pointed out how Tygra wasn’t supped to be able to swim, while tigers are ones of the best swimmers among big cats.

Also, judging by that, Lion-O or Tygra should have been the strong ones, not Panthro, as lions and tigers are the biggest and strongest felines.
