Want to hear a funny story?! :)

Hey gang,

Nothing whatsoever to do with ThunderCats or this site, but just thought some of you might get a laugh out of this - I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, but if it makes one of you guys laugh, well, some good will come out of it!

Easiest thing is to link you guys to this thread at He-Man.Org: http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?p=2063845#post2063845

And here’s the auction I reference (didn’t like to plug it on He-Man.Org): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&item=280308420064

How embarrassing! :frowning:

Take care…

Yeah I read the thread on the .org forums. I thought it was an interesting discussion. I hope my post wasn’t one that offended you. I definitely understand why you did it…and why you found it funny, yet annoying.

Chris here…

Hey Manny my friend, no, yours definitely wasn’t one of the posts that offended me. I can’t speak this freely on the He-Man.Org forums, but I think these days you tend to see a lot of “bandwagon threads” over there - by bandwagon threads I mean that someone will post up a story to share for laughs or because they think it’s cool or whatever, for a few posts everyone will agree, then suddenly someone will post up a (often somewhat discourteous) post disagreeing with the original poster, then suddenly the thread will be flooded with people climbing on their high horse!

In the case of my thread, I just thought it was a funny story - JVS3 changed the thread title (which was probably a wise move) but even then, I still maintain that it was stupid not to give me any clue the photos were on the frame. What I would have done is stuck a post-it note on the box saying “Plug me in for a surprise!” or something - giving an indication that there are photos there to be seen, but not necessarily completely spoiling it.

The one guy I did have a major issue with in that thread was Sky Breaker, who initially posted up a personally insulting tagline to his post, which I actually reported to the Mods and they dealt with swiftly.

The thing I do find offensive is people on that thread getting on my case not saying to my relatives (who live hundreds of miles away from me in Wales) “Thanks but I’ve got no use for this, can I post it back to you?” - I don’t think I know a single person in my offline life who wouldn’t think that was the height of rudeness. And, some people do need to learn to use the phrase “in my opinion”, because once someone owns an item, through whatever legal means they come to acquire it, it’s theirs to do with what they damn well please! Unfortunately these days He-Man.Org’s forums are full of people who love to climb on their high horses and be sanctimonious {sp?} - it doesn’t help that the guy who now owns the ****ing website is one of those people!

As you can probably tell, I’m rather angry about the direction that that thread took over there, moreso than I let on in the thread itself - but, I wasn’t offended by your comments, Manny.

Take care…
