I didn’t see a thread specifically about the voices of those chosen to do the various characters, so I thought I would create one for discussion.
Here’s who is known so far…

Matthew Mercer - Tygra
Emanuelle Chriqui - Cheetara
Kevin Michael Richardson - Panthro
Corey Burton - Jaga
Larry Kenney - Claudus
Clancy Brown - Grune
Robin Atkin Downes - Mumm-Ra
Dee Bradley Baker - Slythe
I like Emanuelle Chriqui.
Larry is the only one on that list I’m familiar with at all.
The only two names I recognize are Larry Kenney and Will Friedle. I keep imagining the older brother in Boy Meets World voicing Lion-O. It’s not a pretty picture. :eek:
Well, I keep imagining Lion-O saying, Ron Stopable’s “BOOYAH!”, or Eric Mathew’s “FEENY!”..<_<
But he’s performance in Batman Beyond was great, and so far sound good based on the trailer.
God, Dee Bradley Baker? I love him, but he’s so overused! He voices ALL of Ben’s aliens now. I would’ve have him play Snarf instead of Slythe. I was happy to hear that not maintream VA’s where tackling this project, wich would mean the voices would’ve been unique to a point. But Baker’s is bound to be repetitive.
I’m not to familiar with Mather Mercer as an actor, but the interview I’ve seen of him make me think he is a good fit for Tygra.
Emanuelle Chriqui is an actress.
I first knew of Mercer as they guy who did There Will be Brawl, which I have yet to see, and as the guy who voiced Fei Long in Street Fighter 4. Apparently he’s done a load of voice acting, but in smaller roles. This would seem to be one of his first big ones.
I’m familiar with most of them but I never heard of Mercer until Thundercats. Emanuelle Chriqui, I completely forgot she was in Are You Afraid of the Dark and Wrong Turn.
Robin Atkin Downes, I had no idea until this and I read he was Prime #3 in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and vocal work on Predators.
Well forget Eric (and Ron for that matter) and try to focus more along the lines of Terry or Doyle from The Secret Saturdays. Actually, it was Doyle’s Epic Roar of Rage from “And Your Enemies Closer” that convinced me atleast that Will can do a grown-up Lion-O. I’ve been trying to find a vid of it to show you guys. but have had no luck.

I do think his voice sounded okay in the preview.
Clancy Brown had done a lot of voice acting. He plays Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob.
While my kid loves Spongebob I go out of my way to avoid any contact with it whatsoever. Just knowing that someone from there is working on this makes my stomach churn.
Spongebob? Why bring that up when he has so many cooler roles? lol
And you bring up Mr. Krabs… sigh
I love Mr. Krabs! 
However, Plankton is my absolute favorite.

I never really cared for Spongebob until my nephews and kids started to watch him, now I love the show.
Also Capt. Black on Jackie Chan Adventures.
Live action wise he was the head security guard in the Shawshank Redemption*, Kelvin on Lost, and many others.
*It was filmed near here, had to bring it up.
OMG! He’s the tall guard from Shawshank! Now I’m going to have to watch that movie now.
:D. Keep an eye out for my high school computer teacher, he was sitting next to Mr. Robbins in the court room scene.
Back on topic, any news on who’s playing the kittens yet?
I never understood the popularity of Spongebob. But then I never understood the popularity of Rugrats or The Simpsons either. (insert shrugging emotie)
It’s how it is I guess. Personally I wish Brown is more noted for his role The Kurgan.
