So what is the story behind why you picked your username? Been thinking about a thread like this for awhile as I see some names that I just don’t understand.
So… What’s your username story?
Mine is pretty obvious - CodeofThundera being the Code of Thundera - justice, truth, honor, loyalty.
My favorite repeated scene in the OS was when you had the four Thundercats each extend their arm and put hand on top of hand as each one would say one of the four parts of the code, then raise their fists in the sky and shout, “ThunderCats, Ho!” I always loved their teamwork and I loved their code.
Mine is from my first fan character. He was Chilla’s brother (and rather Sueish) who had travelled to Third Earth to bring her back to the Moons. Eventually he became so closely associated with me that people started calling me Knave, so it became my general purpose name when I didn’t want my real name out there.
Luckily Knave is much less of a Sue these days, though he does have his moments.

Like Knave, mine’s also a fan character. In this case, Slithor was the primary antagonist of of the Thundercats stories that my fiancee and I have been trying to write for over a decade now (we joke that it’s our own “Chinese Democracy” or “Duke Nukem Forever”). He is Slithe’s nephew who took leadership of the Reptilians on Plun-Darr and fought the other Mutant races to near-extinction. Once that’s done, he sets his sights on the galaxy with the goal of re-establishing the great Plun-Darrian Empire, and he’ll stop at nothing to achieve it, including (SPOILER!) swearing allegiance to the Ancient Spirits of Evil and becoming Mumm-Ra’s replacement!
Back in the day, I saw that others had clever or catchy names based on their characters, and at the time I couldn’t come up with anything. But since it’s kind of tradition to have your username be based on one of your own characters, and that Slithor has been with me for so long now, that I figured it was just natural to use his name for mine. And so here he is… Or rather, here I am.
I was playing a game called ‘Evidence’; it’s a dark, mystery occult type game where you have to solve puzzles to advance. one of the clues I got from a puzzle was Abraxas and I thought it was just so damn cool that I swiped it. it’s Dr. Abraxas now thanks to my phd
before then I was using the name snovelor which came out of my tcat fanfic ‘Esnovelotoris Amateuris’ the first and only manual for the breeding of snarves. a snovelor basically was a snarf breeder.
before even that I was using RDRivero, my most well-known nick, which is actually my name. back in the day ~2000 we were so naive.
Snarf breeder might be the most curious thing I have read all day…
Mine stems from my YA novel. I originally tried to use the same handle on all message boards, but someone had already stolen it on here, so i went to my backup.
My username is an anagram of “No Fate” which is an iconic theme from the Terminator franchise. I use this as my name everywhere I go on the internet as I’m a massive Terminator fan, so if you see anyone called Fotane on another forum it’ll probably be me
