Hi all,
One of the most productive things about last night’s team meeting was the discovery that (contrary to my pre-existing belief) I do actually have the ability to upload directly to the main site directories, and thus add pages to the site - wa-hey!!
Given Kyle’s current pressures, and given that I have begun to learn how to modify pages in HTML, this is a great asset, as I should be able to create and now add webpages into the two areas of the site I co-manage, the Cartoon Section and Comic Section! ![]()
What I could do with from somebody now is an “idiot guide” as to how to both change pages and upload and link to new pages. I’ll give you two examples of things I’m trying to achieve:
Example 1: You will see on this page - http://www.thundercatslair.org/cartoon/cartoon_trial2/index.html - that we have coming soon a page dedicated to the ThunderCats Public Service Announcement Video. I have actually begun to create this page and, thanks to Neil grabbing images for me and Kyle converting them from Bitmap to .jpg, I am nearly finished! I would like to upload this page, complete with its images and the video file to download, to the trial version of the Cartoon Section. Can someone explain to me how to do this? Also, once I have that page uploaded, I will need to subsitute this page: http://www.thundercatslair.org/cartoon/cartoon_trial2/special/announcement/index.html - for the one I create. How do I do this? ![]()
Example 2: As you guys possibly know, our Animation Art guru Mark has returned to the fold, and would like to make some alterations to Kyle’s and my proposed layout for the Animation Art section. So, this page: http://www.thundercatslair.org/cartoon/cartoon_trial2/index.html needs amending and then replacing. Can somebody exaplain to me how I go about doing this? ![]()
I’m really hopeful that, with a bit of guidance from you guys, I will soon be able to take on a lot of the burden of the HTML side of the Cartoon and Comics Sections until Kyle’s workload is a bit less. Any help that anybody would be able to provide me with here would be very much appreciated - many thanks! ![]()
OK then, take care for now, and thanks again everyone for your help! ![]()
