Ok building upon the popularity of the ‘most underused thundercat’ thread… I was wondering which general character you believed was least developed.. Feel free to post any chracters you believe were not developed enough and would have liked to have seen more of..
I know my good friend Chris will make a strong case for wanting to see more of the Wollo Donkey…(Don’t ask :banghead: )
I think that Red-Eye is one of the most interesting looking Lunataks, yet he rarely got any action… so I would probably say him..

Well, I know some people would argue with me, but I believe that Bengali was never used to his full potential… He only had the Hammer of Thundera, and I think that there has to be something else in that character that they could expound upon.:bengali:
I would also have liked to see a more developed Ben Gali. He was knid of a wuss in the show and the few times he was used he was always captured or something like that. He never really did anything action-like that I can remember. Just waiting to be rescued. They should have saved that for the other Third earth natives. They did that mostly of course, but dammit! Ben was a Thundercat with a big a** hammer!:bengali:
I think there are a variety of chracters that could have been developed further as you said. Pumyra is one that never seemed to do anything. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the following characters;
Captain Shiner - and his crew
Bezerkers in general
Rockmen - they were great!

I think that most of the characters were really interesting, and could therefore be developed further. I think some of the best episodes are ones that are devoted to certain characters. For example Safari Joe the episode develops his character more than some of the more frequently used characters.
I would have also liked to have seen Stinger in the series. He is a great figure and would have been a great character. Wonder why they never used him?

I agree, this is probably reflected in Warner Bro’s Intrest in aquiring the Thundercats material. They have most of the hard work already done…great concept, brilliant characters, proven success…all they need to do is give it a modern twist.
I also agree about the episodes developing a characters history and context. I think they could have done a few more of these instead of relying on Mumm-Ra, the mutants and eventually the Lunatacs. I don’t think the addition of the Lunatacs was as essential as it appeared to be to the writers.
I was given the impression that the Lunatacs were a way of giving the show additional areas to branch out into. A kind of desperate way of getting some new stories. As far as I am concerned they already had plenty of avenues to branch into.
There were some really unique interesting episodes in the first series like Excalibur, The Anointment Trials etc.. Episodes that stood out.. There were not so many towards the end. I guess writers can’t be on fire all the time…
