Please someone answer this. Whatever happened to Galtar and the Golden Lance by Hanna Barbara? I loved those shows and want it on DVD as well as the Smurfs and Widget. Anyone know?
Do you think WBV will include a pamhplet in the final Thundercats DVD similar to how it is included in every He-Man DVD release? I know it is way too late to have it done like the ones in He-Man, but WBV can just make one pamphlet that includes all 130 episodes with a brief synopsis, title of every episode, an image from each show, and a brief history andmaybe credits.
I guess it may be to much to ask since they pretty much put little effort and thought into the previous DVD releases.
I’m still so upset with them. Its like they weren’t trying to compete against its main competitor, He-Man. Once they saw the quality and content of the Season One, Volume Two, He-Man DVD, they should have upped their game for the next Thundercats DVD releases to make it more attractive, especially since the cost is about $64.99 at most stores (He-Man only ran me $24.99 and has way more content and extras).
I am still uoset that thye cut out the intro in that Exdous episode where the announcer introduces the storyline and the characters before the thundercats theme song starts. I still have it on video, that is why I remembered it.
Right now, I am slightly worried about this “new” Thundercats TV show at the hands of WB. They are not impressing me right now.
I’ve got to be honest and say that I don’t have any info on this - I’ve actually never seen the show (at least I don’t remember seeing it), although I’ve seen lots of promo ads for it in various comic books from the 1980s.

Hmmmm, this is a great idea - but, I’ll be honest and say I think if it was going to be released with S2V2, it probably would have been announced in WB’s press release for the set.
I agree with you about the content and extras, and also about the pricing point. The only comment I’d make in the ThunderCats vs. He-Man DVD debate is that BCI’s He-Man releases have been plagued with difficulties, with two out of the three boxed sets released so far afflicted by major problems - the packaging issues with S1V1 (with so many scratched discs having to be replaced by BCI) and then so many people experiencing difficulty playing “The Ice Age Cometh” on S2V1. Whilst ThunderCats on DVD have also had the inexcusable errors of a couple of title cards missing and the music track missing on “The Unholy Alliance” upon its initial release, I have to say that I personally prefer this to having discs that are scratched or won’t play properly.
IMO, if WB had not made the errors it did with the “The Unholy Alliance” music and with the missing title cards, I would go so far as to rate their ThunderCats DVDs ahead of BCI’s He-Man DVDs! However, I will say that if BCI can keep the standard of extras for the She-Ra series as high as they have for He-Man, but without the packaging/disc mastering problems, then they will eclipse the quality and value of the ThunderCats DVDs for me!
I have to say, that’s not a cut per se - what I suspect you have on video is what is commonly known as the “movie” version of “Exodus”, which is basically the first four episodes (“Exodus”, “The Unholy Alliance”, “Berbils” and “The Slaves of Castle Plun-Darr”) edited together. That video features the famous “lost intro” that you mention. However, the “lost intro” does not feature on the regular, stand-alone version of the episode “Exodus”, so that’s why it’s not on the DVD, because the stand-alone episode rather than the “movie” version is what WB chose to release for the DVD.
This I entirely agree with - WB didn’t create the original ThunderCats show, and as such I’m not entirely convinced that they will make a good job of recreating the magic of the original for a new series. I will 100% watch and (probably) support a new ThunderCats show, but I am slightly concerned that it will be something of an anti-climax.
I agree with Chris on the new series ideas… it might just be an anti-climax for me, as well. but we’ll see. Secondly, I do know Galtar very well, and I enjoyed it too. Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about them releasing it on DVD, either. I do know, however, that that series was Hanna-Barbera, and that it came on with another short cartoon called The Inhumanoids. I’m sorry I didn’t have any more info for you, but I hope someone else does.
