I want to know what you, the collectors truly think about this figure ?
I don’t see me ever buying or interested in buying a TW Lion -o, loose or Moc.
Simply, i want my figures to have a coherence with the 80s cartoon. And i don’t see how this ‘holy grail’ fits there since this special devise never appeared on a single episode. Anyway my personal opinion.

It’s kinda funny as I like to be involved like one of the gang (general fans), I often forget I’m one of the powers that be on here!
I own two and owned a third at one time. I would love to trade them up for a moc but I doubt Ill be able to afford it.

I had 3 at one time but wound up selling them, like others have said it was never in the cartoon so I figured I could live without it.
Newb here that could use some advice. I just recently bought a mixed lot of loose figures on eBay with only really purchasing to obtain the loose driller. I figured id just sell the other 20 that came with seeing that most of them were incomplete. To my surprise a lion-o with thundrwings arrived to my door within the bunch. What amazes me is it’s afa grading worthiness. Id assume afa80 based off my other loose afa figures. I know carded thunderwings are obviously uber rare but what do you guys feel my loose one maybe worth roughly? Id like to trade or sell, it’s just I need advice on its value. Thanks

I have a perfect condition loose TW Lion-O that I got with a Thundercats lot for a bargain and I don’t think I’ll everneed a MOC one…

Heres a photobucket link I put together. Theres one spec of paint missing on his belt logo. I feel like its hard to put a price on something like this especially seeing that Bengali hammer sells for $100+ on ebay lately…Lol! I think I may just send it in to be graded. I saw the moc Lion-o thunderwings on ebay for a whopping $7k :eek: Wonder if someone bought that.

Well, a loose thunderwings liono in good condition in my opinion can go between 200-300 dollars. On the other hand the price of a moc thunderwings (if you find one) depends mainly on the bubble condition, the card condition and of course if it was graded or not. The one you saw on ebay was a graded one (afa 75) Anyway, the moc thunderwings liono is so rare (graded or not) that the price can reach extremely high numbers..My opinion though is that a moc thunderwings non graded should not exceed 2500 dollars and a graded one 3500 dollars…7 k is way too much for a figure…
I agree. Although on the other hand when I see moc’s etc for a ridiculous amount, I look at it as if the seller lists it that high cause they really don’t want to get rid of it in the first place. Unless of course they find the right buyer willing to shell out the big bucks.
While just how much a fan / collector is willing to spend on a Thunderwings Lion-O (loose complete or MOC) will vary from person to person, it is very much one of the holy grail items in the toy line, if not THE holy grail item as I see a lot more demand and conversation about the Thunderwings Lion-O then I do the Luna Lasher Mummra. Now note that when I am discussing “holy grail” items I am not including prototypes, etc… I am only talking about figures which were actually released.
Much like the Stinger and Driller, the Twings Lion-O was released at the very end of the toy line’s run. This means a lot (and i do mean A LOT) less of them got to be produced. Now of those produced just how many actually ended up in the hands of a collector and not in the garbage or goodwill after the child who owned it grew up or got tired of playing with it? VERY FEW! As both a huge fan of the Thundercats universe and a collector, this adds a very desirable element to this item… It’s got a hell of a story behind it! This is also what keeps this item in such high demand and allows it to maintain such a high value despite the economic times.
