Hello everyone, I realize not many exist but what is the market for a MOC Thunderwings Lion-O, one with let’s say in C-8/9 condition with absolutely no bubble damage and a crystal clear bubble..I realize the economy is down at the moment but with a strong economy, what do you guys think this would go for or is worth…Awesome website BTW!!!
A MOC Thunderwings Lion-o for sale in that kind of a condition would surely attract a lot of attention, even in a down economy.
Its one of those items in the Thundercats line that when you do see it for sale, you (as well as every other Tcats collector out there) know that it may be a very long time before you see another one like it for sale. Obviously this is what drives people to pull out their wallets.
While I won’t guess a dollar amount, I will say that even in a down economy a Mint MOC 8 back Panthro sold for over $600.00 on eBay a few months back, as well as a mint MOC Lion-o w/Snarf that went for about $630.00 if memory serves me right. Then again, a few MOC 8 backs in very nice condition have gone for a little over $100.00 recently. So you can see how it all fluctuates.
Its a really tough time to gauge a street value on these items with the way things are.
I will say this though. Whatever the economy is like, if a C8/C9 Twings Lion-o like you described showed up on eBay, I’d definitely be watching to see how much it goes for. Even place a bid or two if I can.
Thunderwings Lion-O
I had my Thunderwings Lion-O MOC in a set with Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra MOC in my ebay store for $3000, best offer I got in 3 months was 1000 for the pair. I wouldn’t let either one go for under a thousand so I figured I was wasting the listing fees, plus I didn’t REALLY want to sell them. :0) It’s definitely been a down market (right after I bought half my stuff at the old prices…) but I’ve got some deals and a few things tucked away for a rainy day. Just like with my depressed 401k, I’m not planning to sell anytime soon anyway.
It really annoys me when people darn well know what the value is on some items but yet chose to give lowball offers. $1000 for the pair??? Are you kidding me. I wouldve sent an email to the person giving them thanks for wasting my time

1000 was the BEST offer. I got one offer of 50 (yes that is $25 a piece), which was automatically rejected, then the guy offered 60 (automatically rejected) then 100 before it wouldn’t let him anymore…I made sure to block that guy before his next round lol. I decided to take everything personal collection off the store except the Laser Sabers, I figure they bring people in to buy other things plus you never know when someone will feel like splurging and make a real offer. Best offer I’ve got on those is 500 each as well, same guy I believe. But even my non-toy collector friends+family can appreciate how rare those are so it gives me a good anchor story for the tour of my display area.
