Thundertank Variation???

Recently purchases 2 thundertanks on ebay. One was from the midwest somewhere and the other on the east coast. I was about to relist one of them cause I didnt need two I just happen to win them both at the same time. Anywho, I noticed that the tread area the ****pit area and the wheels are different. Anyone know why? On the one the treads are freely able to move on the other there is a lock in place holding them. Here are some pics.

The first wheel and the last wheel do not stick out

Nothing holding the wheels, able to move freely

First wheel and last wheel have an outer wheel.

If anyone has any information on this it would be most helpful

The one with the pegs only elevates when the pop up action is activated, correct?

The one without the pegs, the wheels can rotate 180 degrees?

The one with no peg holes the wheels go 360* which is the bottom set of pics

You have essentially posted pictures to the two versions I referred to. I thought I remember reading omeone about ione being quite low in the production numbers.

I can’t recall which one I had in 86/87
