This day in age getting photo’s of something really isn’t that difficult. Most everyone has a digital camera now a days or knows someone who does.
Unless you are dealing with someone whom is a reputable seller and know that his word is as good as gold, I wouldn’t make a purchase without being able to see some pictures.
As far as the missing piece on the Thundertank; I imagine when he says “clip”, he may be referring to one of the threads since he says it is off “the boot”. Just my guess though. Maybe you could ask him to be a bit more descriptive before you decide to make a buy.

Im currently waiting for a response as ive asked for a little more detail, but i dont wanna jinx anything because the guy is seeling a load of figures and the tank for quite cheap so i might just risk it and let you guys know the result.

In terms of the “clip” that he says is missing from the “boot”, is this guy a UK seller? The “boot” of a car here in the UK basically means the “trunk” in US speak!
Anyway, on a Thundertank toy, it has a spring-loaded feature whereby you press down on a button and a gun turret pops out the back, and the front “jaws” and “paws” of the 'Tank both spring open. When the 'Tank is closed down, there are three pieces that cover the gun turret - I’d be 99.9% confident in saying that what he says is missing is one of the small plastic hinges that connects the back portion of these three pieces, meaning that the back portion is connected to the main body of the 'Tank by just one hinge instead of two.
As to how this affects the Thundertank’s value, to be honest I think you’d have to grade it as being “broken” but with not too bad a flaw - IMO I’d have thought you could still make a decent display piece out of it, I’d just say that it ought not to be worth as much money as an example that was complete. However, I’m not an expert on ThunderCats toys, so don’t put a huge amount of stock by what I say!

Most likely he means that one of the ‘doors’ on the back end is missing.
