I wish you could come to the show! I say you should start a UK ThunderCon.

One day for sure! SDCC would be great too. Hopefully next year I’m in a better position to attend.

A UK convention would be cool, but I’m not sure how popular it would be, since we’d be lucky to get a single person associated with ThunderCats involved (with the convention being outside the USA)

Celesta Johnson??? WTF? Granted I love her fan art and I even paid her to do a commission before she jacked up her rates the following month back in 2009. She is not part of the original cast…she’s just another fan like you or me. She is listed there?

She was just a fan that happened to be at the right place at the right time for the filming of “The fans speak out” for the Tcats DVDs. She lives on the West Coast so it was easy for her to attend it.

This isn’t right for a fan to get celebrity status. Don’t get me wrong, I like her but for her to be listed like this, as a celeb at a convention…nah, it’s wrong.

I’m not completely up-to-speed on events, but my understanding was that Celesta was chairing the panel, or something along those lines - I’m 99.999% certain she’s not actually a guest speaker - hopefully that clears that up!

Val: Welcome to the forums! Glad that ThunderCon plans look to be going well. I wish I could attend, unfortunately for us European ThunderCats fans it’s pretty close to impossible…but maybe one day!

Celesta is modding both the classic TCats cartoon panel and the new TCats cartoon panel. She also has a table in the vendor room where I imagine she’ll be selling her artwork. We’re glad to have her as part of the show!

Any artist here could have purchased a table. We welcome anyone who wants to come sport their wares. We’re sold out of tables this year, but if anyone is interested next year we’d love to see you at the show!

If anyone would like a suggestion for an East Coast Thunder-Con, the Hunt Valley Marriott here in Maryland has been successfully hosting science fiction ones for many years.

My problem with that cover is I feel it’s more in favour of He-Man than both characters having equal billing. Lion-O could be seen as kneeling down to He-Man. That’s the immediate vibe I got from the piece. Personally I’m not a fan of it.

He-man helped pave the way for the Thundercats, I am fine with it. To me its no different than having the Simpsons on top, and the others that followed.

Soooo, I just noticed the exclusive Thundercon Mumm-Ra staticon, and frankly, was super-sincerely hoping that someone might be able to pick one up for me (happy to pay, acourse!) - anyone attending that might be able to help a guy stuck over here in KY? :panthro:

I think the idea is that they are overlooking a cliff or something like that. So to have a profile shot work, one has to have the crouched hunter pose and the other is standing up. That’s my guess anyway.

I honestly never thought about it as one being submissive to the other. All I see is a cool image. I had a blast coloring it! I don’t get to work with Ed that much, so it was fun to jam together, especially since we both like He-Man and ThunderCats.

I don’t understand how they think one is more prominent than the other either. He-man might be on top, but Lion-O is at the front.

I think it was just limitations on the size of the image. If it would’ve been an inch longer where you could see Lion-O’s belt no one would think anything of it. But since this is a magazine cover there are size limitations.
