We have a collectible room at the Power-Con / ThunderCon show in Los Angeles on Sep 24th and 25th. We want to represent TCats the best we can!
We’re looking for complete, loose LJN ThunderCats toys. Preferably a collection as close to complete as possible. We just need the figures. The only vehicle I think we’d need for this year is the ThunderTank.
Here’s the big kicker: we need the help of a fan in the US. I think we’ve found about a half dozen collections in the UK, but shipping eliminates those as options.
Your collection will be treated with the upmost love and respect, will be placed in secure curios, and will be under the careful watch of people posted in the room by the convention.

I presume you are asking for a collection to borrow for the event, and that the collection would be returned in the same condition it was in to start with, correct?
I also presume the collection would be sent both ways with insurance paid for by you/someone else with the event, just in case it gets lost along the way…

I can volunteer mine as well if needed provided it has shipping paid for both ways and insurance. The figs would do good to actually be displayed, since there boxed up, and you would have to match the accessories to the figure as they aren’t together, but I have them all. My loose stinger has repo wings and I’d want to ship him separate so they don’t get broke off in the box with the other figs. I dont have a regular LJN thundertank though. If mine were used I’d also like a couple pics shot my way of them set up

Most definitely! When time come to ship, I’ll provide whoever is generous enough to donate with a UPS airbill.
The donator will just need to let me know the size of each box (if more than one),
the weight of each box,
the value of each box for insurance (please make sure it’s accurate),
and if they can drop it off at a UPS store or if they will have to leave it on their porch for pickup by UPS.

Very cool. Would it be possible to put each figure with its correct weapon in a sandwich baggie or something like that before they are packed securely?
The folks setting it up would know what is what, but having them each in their own bag would save on time during setup and breakdown.

Going to be tough to find a loose Stinger with wings. So unless someone has one with original wings, I think Matt wins in that area. Plus as I said earlier I know my Capt. Cracker is missing his sword…
I do have the ThunderTank and all the vehicles, so I could complement Matt’s figures. But I know 3 have issues, ThunderClaw (no handles), Fist Pounder (broken seatbelt), and Stilt Runner (broken waist clamp).
Just to add, any gaps missing such as weapons I could help with. All my loose figures are 100% complete. I know shipping weapons over to the USA and back again wouldn’t cost too much Just let me know if you do have any gaps, such as weapons, accessories etc…
I’d agree if it were some random person asking that nobody had ever heard of. However Val is a long standing friend of ours and owner of He-Man.org. I know he will ensure all items are given the upmost care, so the person loaning the collection has no worries in that regard. So long as the packages were insured and tracked, I’d have loaned mine, but airmail shipping for that many figures would cost way too much.

Yep I warned the convention organisers of that problem. Do any of our LJN collectors even own a loose complete Stinger on this board? :eek:
However, a customized Stinger (with fan made wings) could be a good talking point at the convention. I know their were customized pieces at the recent Grayskull convention in Germany So it could be a cool display edition anyway!

As far as the Stinger the wings look like the original there transparent but thicker and more durable and don’t have that translucence shininess to them.
Val I’ll grab them this weekend. honestly there probably gonna need to be insured for a lot. The stinger alone was around $130 with repo wings. Talking upwards of probably around $700 for the whole loose collection and that’s being conservative with prices in mind from 5 years ago when I got them, I’d prob put it a little higher now. Let me know if that is too steep or what not, and again I don’t have a LJN Thundertank.
We don’t have to have all the figures, but it would be nice if possible. We want to get as close to a complete figure collection as we can. Next year, we’ll amp it up a bit if people like the Museum Room.
Does anyone have a ThunderTank we could borrow if Matt can loan us the figures?
Matt: Insuring for between 700.00 and 1000.00 sounds okay. I don’t foresee a problem with that.
If you can put each figure in a sandwich baggie with its accessories, that would be awesome. Then pack them all up securely! bubble wrap if you have it, packing peanuts a’plenty, etc.
No matter where you are located in the US, everything should be sent out on Thursday, September 15th.

I think between Matt and me we can have a complete collection, other than a loose Stinger with original wings.
I’ll let Matt have first choice on sending his collection since he was asking about getting a picture… Mine are in a nice display setting 24/7/365, so I can snap a picture any day I want.
I’ll plan on sending only my ThunderTank, but I can send any of my vehicles and accessories, even the Tongue-A-Saurus and light-up Sword of Omens if you want.
Val I’ll email you and we should be all set with my figs, and Ill box them up nice. Ill be shipping two boxes w the stinger in one box and the other figs in another one. I also wont send variants just one of each fig if that works out fine. If for ever reason I dont have a figure I’ll post it here ASAP. I also probably wont send the moat monster unless it’s needed.
Oh Just an FYI Stinger has a terrible display quality the way his legs are made, he always falls over so he might need to be propped up.
So it could be a cool display edition anyway!
