That’s a bloody shame. I love listening to the leaked soundtrack, but it would be awesome to have all of the cues in top quality. Got my Superman blue boxed set and Back to the Future Intrada release, Thundercats is right up there wit those two on my all time want list.
Nice, I’ve Intrada’s BTTF complete release too, but the massive Superman and Star Trek TOS score boxed sets are in my to buy list.
I keep listening to that leaked soundtrack too and I have it organized with the track list as they appear in the opening episodes.
Their last post in 2012 seems pretty optimistic, I wonder if sales of the 2011 ThunderCats score album changed their decision.
I hope not, because I have zero interest in the 2011 soundtrack, but the original series would be a definite buy for me. I hope they can see that just because they are both called Thundercats doesn’t mean they have the same following. With some of the obscure things I see released I hope we will get this one day.
Indeed, that’s something any of the companies contemplating about releasing ThunderCats products should realize.
Since I already got the answer from the record label, I won’t bring up the topic with them for sometime. But by end of the year, I’ll bump the thread on the FSM forum and try to generate interest again. Hopefully they will consider it for next year.
I still don’t get what keeps them away from a digital, zero-cost release.

This album thickens the chance of a ThunderCats release by this company.
I just hope it sells out and quickly in order to make them see that there’s a market for such soundtracks.
I’m totally gonna buy the Filmation “He-Man” soundtrack, though I’m still holding out hope for a “ThunderCats 1985” soundtrack. 
It burns me the treatment He-Man gets over Thundercats. I realise that lots’ has to do with licencing and rights ssues, but He-Man fans always seem to get the better deal. It would be a damn shame if this gets a release and Thundercats never sees the light of day, for me the show is superior in every way possible.
For me they are pretty much on par, however He-Man was lucky enough to be a Mattel franchise, while the ThunderCats were scattered around holders and ended up to couldn’t-care-less WB 
However, many other huge franchises are also left behind in terms of music. To this day, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers and G.I. Joe are still left without any soundtrack release while they’re still mainstream brands.
ThunderCats, He-Man and Dragon Ball (we were lucky enough to have it earlier here) are my top 3 animated shows of all time and it seems that ThunderCats leave companies unexcited for pretty much anything.
And for crying out loud, they should at least make a decent adult collector’s toyline. All that limbo only does damage to our beloved felines…

I’m on something of a campaign to get this sold out as quickly as possible so that La La Land realise the interest in soundtracks for 80s cartoons. I’ve been joining as many relevant forums as I can to spread the word. I was astonished at how many people didn’t know about it. It’s why I’ve joined this forum, but I found this post so it’s saved me posting about it myself
I also got 50 retweets about it on Twitter, which is all to the good!
I REALLY want to see soundtracks for She-Ra, Thundercats, M.A.S.K. and The Mysterious Cities of Gold so I’m going to keep spreading the word until that He-Man CD is SOLD OUT!
If anyone here has been on the fence, now is the time to buy. In May there were 500 copies left according to LLL, so don’t waste time!

I happen to own the “He-Man” soundtrack also.
I messaged LA La Land records to ask if they would consider a Thundercats release in the vein of their MOTU CD. Their response:
“[FONT="]We are trying but there are rights issues”[/FONT]
Thanks for that update Booshman. I hope they keep at it and don’t give up on the release.
I guess WB doesn’t have all the needed rights for the music and La La Land have to comply with multiple parties to make the release possible.
The music and sound effects from the old “ThunderCats” were mixed together. I’d love to hear both on an official CD release.
He-man do get more coverage over all, but then again, the fan base is so much bigger and the I think the people that manage the licence are more open to new stuff …
I paged through my He-man and the Masters of the Universe Art Book by Dark Horse over the weekend and just thought how awesome a ThunderCats version of it will be … !
Hopefully with Mattel having the rights to start with the figures they will spark the interest and the TC light will start shining over the retail market again! ; )
