New DVD Boxset available in the UK from 14th April. Not just HMV this time either.
It’s about time you guys got S2V2! Write your reviews after you’ve seen them. I’d like to know what you think because I’ve already seen most of those episodes.

UPDATE: I’ve been doing some research into this. First of all, it would appear that the two latest UK ThunderCats DVD releases, Season 2 Volume 1 and the Complete Season 1, are no longer HMV exclusives, as a number of online retailers have them listed for sale - these include www.choicesuk.com, www.sendit.com, www.amazon.co.uk, www.play.com, as well of course as www.hmv.co.uk.
The UK version of Season 2 Volume 1 will be released in a couple of weeks’ time, on 14th April - exciting stuff!
As for Season 2 Volume 2, admittedly I have only investigated the online retailers I listed above, but none of those show a listing for that title due to be released on that date - according to those sites, the only ThunderCats title coming out on 14th April is Season 2 Volume 1.
However! I have found two early pre-order listings for the UK version of Season 2 Volume 2. The first of these, at www.play.com, just lists the title but provides no info about it at all:

The second of these, however, is at www.sendit.com, and gives a release date of 2nd June 2008!

In light of this potential scoop, I’m going to take the liberty of changing the name of this thread to reflect this newfound information, in the hope that nobody objects. Many thanks to Marshy106 for inspiring us to look into this!

Actually according to HMV.co.uk Season 2 Part 2 would already be released on May 12! Now of course there is no further info available (no correct description and not even the exact number of disc is given) so it can be subject to change.. But just to let everyone know that we could have the last set within a couple of weeks!

I have to say I think the June release date sounds more feasible, as I would have thought WHV UK would want to allow a decent amount of time between the two releases - but, we shall see, it’d be awesome to be wrong! Again, thanks for the additional info!

According to HMV.co.uk the release date is still 12 May, although the 2nd of June would be more believable. Maybe they still need to change it on the site? Although they have put up the box art; it’s the same as the previous ones, except this one has a purple ‘theme’ and there is a picture of panthro (I think) on the side of the box. Audiotrack in Stereo
Got the set today and apparently the audio track is now in ‘2S Dolby Stereo’. Haven’t listened though, but this seems the only set to mention this; the other sets are all in 1.0 Mono. It seems a shame they haven’t done this for the other 3 sets. Maybe this will be the case when the entire 4 box set is released!?

Holy thread revival, Batman! Just spotted this available online and thought I’d give a heads-up - it’s the first time I personally have spotted it, although apparently it’s been available for a while:
ThunderCats - Complete Second Season boxed set
I have no idea if it contains any exclusive features like the free comic that came with the complete Season 1 set, but if I can track down any more info I’ll definitely pass it on!
Plus, there is also a listing for a boxed set of the entire ThunderCats series - however, at the moment I can’t find box art for it:

It’s true that on the UK boxset of Season 2 Part 2, the interactive game is missing. It’s even more confusing that the boxset itself actually advertises the game and yet it’s not there.. at all. I emailed Warner Bros. about it but received no response.
I’m actually surprised at how well put together the boxsets are - apart from some minor glitches (and I do mean minor), the transfer has been done wonderfully for an 1980’s cartoon. And I must admit.. Season 2 Part 2 is a great boxset. I was surprised at how much I liked the second season even though I was led to believe it went extremely downhill (Circus Train is just utterly ridiculous but entertaining). I definately recommend it, even without the game.
