We have just received word from our friends over at Warner Home Video UK, that the second half of Thundercats season 1, will be released on DVD on the 13th August 2007 in a 6 disc boxset.
Warner Home Video has also confirmed (just like Thundercats Season 1, Volume 1 released back in January) that the Thundercats Season 1, Volume 2 DVD set will also be an HMV exclusive release.
As soon as we have more details such as running time, extras and cover art we will be sure to post it right here. We will also post a link to the HMV site as soon as it comes up for pre-order as well!
Stay tuned to the front page of the site for more news about this DVD sets release!
Hi! Yeah, I saw the cover for the British release of S1V2 of the ThunderCats DVD package. The only thing I don’t get is why they chose to make the T-Cat insignia blue instead of its usual red. Not that I mind, I don’t. It’s a beautiful shade of blue, but why that and not red? I asked Purrsia and she thought it might have something to do with the color scheme. Can you shed any light on that, blackiecats?:?
Oh, and I just looked through the July 2007 issue of Toyfare Magazine. Sorry, there was no interview with Larry Kenney. But on Page 9, there’s a cute miniature Lion-O that was custom-made for somebody’s wish-list. And the caption accompanying it is funny! Check it out.:cheetaraveryhappy:
I think Purrsia nailed it. With the region 1 release having a blue boarder, I think they are carrying on the same theme with the region 2 sets. With the UK set they also decided to have the insignia blue as well as the boarder on the case.
In addition to Neil’s (Blackiecats’) answer, the UK Region 2 release of S1V1 featured the same shot of the ThunderCats logo, but coloured its’ usual red - so, they obviously had to give it a different cover this time!
It definately looks like Tygra and I agree that it would be cool to have each main Thundercat on the side of each boxset, so S2V1 = Cheetara and S2V2 = Panthro

I hope they get to Season Two and don’t just leave it unfinished like they did with Batman.

I hope they do as well, if only to see if PAL masters of season 2 exist! lol However if they don’t, I don’t mind so much as I have season 2 on R1 NTSC DVD already! Once I get the S1V2 R2 boxset in August, I’ll have all 130 episodes on official DVD
I also agree that that looks like Tygra - I’d love to see the spines for these differ from the US ones (if only for creating some visual interest on my DVD shelf, LOL!), so let’s hope that that’s the finalised version of the box art!
Thank you, Chris! It looks like the UK’s color-code release of the T-Cat DVDS is going to follow the same pattern as the US releases - red for Season S1V1, blue for S1V2, yellow for S2V1, and purple for S2V2. But unlike the US packages, which had their tops in those colors, the UK packages will have the T-Cat insignia in those colors on their fronts. Mystery solved!:cheetaraveryhappy:
I’ve been meaning to ask you, Neil. When’s the newsletter coming?:?
Just a friendly note to request, wherever possible please can you guys avoid back-to-back posting, but edit your previous post instead? Editing a post rather than posting a new one straight after is something that we’ve recently made an attempt to encourage, so if anyone read the forum rules before signing up prior to about 2 or 3 months ago, it’s not a request that would have been there, so it’s not a big deal - but if you guys and gals could help us out with that, that would be great - many thanks!
Sure, I’ll be happy to do that. I didn’t know back-to-back posting was causing you guys problems on this site. I keep that in mind next time I post anything.:bengali:
