Thanks for the heads up!

5.1 sound? could that be true?

I know Warner has been wrong on this before but could this press release actually be accurate for once? I can see there being a chance since it’s a new season…but what do you guys think? Can we ever trust the 5.1 surround listing on an original mono channel ? not even the He-Man releases were in 5.1 methinks this is another “typo”

anyway what say all of you? 8)

Man, those features really justify the price.

oh baby, April 18th can’t come soon enough!

I agree… I want TCats Now!!!

Howdy

Awesome news

Although aren’t those extra’s a little lame???

Chris M

Chris here…

Yep, contrary to what you could be forgiven for believing, I am still alive!

I disagree - true they’re a little bit thin-on-the-ground, but the music of ThunderCats has always fascinated me, and is one of the things as a kid that most attracted me to the show. As much as I enjoy the orchestral scoring that cartoons get today, I much prefer the theme-driven music scores of '80s cartoons!

The thing that was great about ThunderCats was that, as well as the theme itself, each original ThunderCat had his or her own distinctive theme music - if the featurette explores that in great enough detail, I’ll find it fascinating!

That said, I wouldn’t care over much if these discs came with no special features at all - just getting these episodes in something close to broadcast quality is a treat to be savoured by all UK ThunderCats fans!

Take care…

Sometimes cartoon music gets underated, but a good cartoon has good music, not just good characters and animation.

I think it’s a great idea to see how the music was done for the show.

David.

WTF ???
no spanish audio track???
that sucks i will not buy it then..

how come they release 2 packs with spanish and french audio
and now they start to release the new packs without those audios.

WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Very exciting! I can’t wait to watch these features!

it could be a mistake

you might have to wait till the release date to find out

Spanish Audio is a possibility.

gcomspeada: Warner has been known for giving out the wrong information on specs in a Thundercats release. My best guess would be that Spanish WILL be included on the upcoming set.
Look at this site:
http://www.dvdworldusa.com/shopexd.asp?id=42600

It says that the set will contain Spanish and French tracks in Dolby Digital (which in Warner terms means Mono)
and the English track is in 5.1 .. Which again is Warner-talk for Mono..

we shall see , but I have a feeling that they will not change the audio specs suddenly and we should see the Spanish track on there. Only other thing that comes to mind is a possible licensing issue, but that really shouldn’t be the problem since Warner owns the Tcats Property, does it not?

P.S. are you the one that left the comment on Amazon.com about the Spanish audio? guessed it was but just wanted to confirm that out of curiosity.

I think neisan is right. If the spanish track was included in the past sets, then I’m 99.9% sure WB will include it in the final two sets. Likewise, unless WB had a change of heart, I doubt we will get anything near stereo quality sound. We’re going to have to deal with the mono issue.

March 15th Question

The posting states March 15th for the pre-order date.. I just assumed that meant with Warner home video’s online site, but It’s now March 17th, and still no listing for the S2V1 set.. is that a bad sign or just my mistake? Could it perhaps mean a pre-order date for major distributors as opposed to consumers?
Hope this is this case… I can’t really recall how early the S1V2 listing was up on the site in correlation with the actual street date, but I think it was something like a month before, was it not?

Ordered my copy a couple of weeks ago from www.playusa.com

I’d recommend that site for any UK fans who want to buy the Thundercats sets as your more likely to pay a customs fee if you order from www.amazon.com

Anyway I can’t wait to receive it and finally see the season 2 episodes in clear quality!

Howdy

Hey, Neil, while I to will be ordering T-Cats from playusa.com for birthday, could you please state when you receive your set whether or not you payed import tax? It’s just these sets have got me a little worried with the fact they are a bit more expensive than the He-Man sets.

Thanks

Chris M

Yeah, no problem.

Got my calendars marked.
