I did spot a possible consistency problem , why didnt the sword warn claudus??? that always bothered me in the original series , I call it “selective warning system” courtesy of the sword of omens
Because Claudus wasn’t able to achieve ‘Sight Beyond Sight’. With Lion-O being a more worthy king, he was able to gain that extra power from the sword.
You gotta listen to what Jaga says. He says the Greatest King will have Sight beyond Sight. It isn’t a normal ability for the kings. It’s special to Lion-O, who the sword DID try to warn.
While I agree it was selective in the old series, I think the deal with Claudius can be explained. It seems that only the worthy wielder could harness the full powers of the sword of Omens. I don’t think Claudius was ever worthy.
Here’s my general two cents (without getting spoilery). For me, it was great. It’s the series I always hoped they’d make. A lot of things were familiar, and indeed because I was so familiar with details of the old show I saw a lot of things coming. Didn’t see the one big twist for some reason though. LOL but Mumm-Ra is awesome. I love how he looks just like the classic character. The story line is great. I have no real complaints.

Agreed with that. I’m very pleased and I think it does the original justice. It’s a revisioning that’s still faithful to the original in every way. I do love how the drama and story was more fleshed out and well written. No corny lines either. It honestly gave me goosebumps when Lion-O’s battlecall was faithful even in execution to the original. The producers didn’t just want to reintroduce this classic to a new generation, but also to remind the original generation it entertained that it’s something to be fond of again. I’m so pleased with it.
Haven’t watched the show yet, as it hasn’t aired in Laitn America, but for what I read, I still no liking what they’ve done to Tygra… and for what I read, neither fans (I’ve read comments to those reviews saying how they hated the character). It seems they redisigned all the other charatcters for the best but him, and I really hope they don’t leave him as this one-dimensional arrogant, jealous dude, but give him a chance to grow and become a better character.
I’m guessing he might be the target of many jokes and humiliations from the others and his feelings will get hurt over and over on the show, until he becomes"what they think he should be".
