If anyone watches the show Supernatural, in last nights episode there was a scene with Dean and Sam as kids watching Thundercats back in the day. It was kinda cool to see.
What was the episode title/number? Just so I can watch out for it when it comes on over here in the UK 
I’ve never seen the show myself, though I have heard about it. This particular episode, however, I read about in someone’s LJ - and my goodness, I neary died laughing at his reaction to it all.
See, the guy is an anti-Fan - he used to be a fan of the show (via his girlfriend), but when his self proclaimed ‘know it all’ genius attitude wasn’t as well received as he had expected it to be (that, and his unhealthy obsession with one of the fandom’s well known members in which she refused his interest consistantly), he swore off the entire series and anything that has to do with it. Though instead of letting it go and concentrating on other obsessions of his, he continues to bring up how much he loathes Thundercats whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Supernatural is one of his fave shows, though when he saw that very brief ‘Exodus’ clip, he virtually flipped out; saying how it always seemed no matter how hard he tried, that damned show always popped up to remind him of the past - comparing it to herpes, no joke - and how he would like to do as Eric Cartman of South Park fame would like to do with Family Guy (in case those of you who frequent these boards are unfamiliar with South park or haven’t seen the recent ep, Cartman wants Family Guy permenantly removed from TV for very inane reasons).
To think that a very brief Tcats clip could illicit such venom from an anti-fan is actually quite amusing, if it wasn’t so pathetically sad. I was actually half expecting this dude to swear off ‘Supernatural’ simply because of that brief clip and claim it ruined the series for him entirely (if you knew the guy - such an act would be very much like him).
Yeah, it was kind of an interesting moment for me. My wife is sitting there watching it next to me, and points out that it’s on the tv in the show. I GLANCE AT IT, not even a full look, and I know what episode it is. Albeit, it was the first episode of the series, probably the easiest one to identify, but my geekness was solidified in that moment.
Did anyone see the Tosh.0 episode where he does the Eye of Thundera sword tip curling around his eyes? It was pretty sweet. Either he or one of his writers must be a big fan.
Wow, they really had young Sam and Dean Winchester watching ThunderCats? I occasionally watch Supernatural but I didn’t know this. The first episode of the series? I have that on DVD! Thanks for the info!

I’ve been watching the show since it began in 2005, but I still have to catch up on the recent Season 5. Supernatural is a great horror genre show, exploring so many of the classic horror mythos. The show manages to balance comedy and horror pretty well, thanks to its two lead actors.
Episode 118 - Something Wicked. This episode from Season 1 was the one of the first episodes to feature the flashback of the Winchester family.
I kinda remember that Supernatural had more than a single episode with a ThunderCats reference, but I am not sure. Which season was this episode from, the older ones or Season 5.
The show has tons of varying references to alot of different things. Star Wars is referenced several times, Thundercats. They had fun with it, and it truly is fun to watch.
True.. I also remember that they had several references to Ghostbusters and couple of Back to the Future references as well.

Supernatural is really brilliant show. It has nice and extremely well written storyline. Characters of the show is charismatically awesome. All episodes are interesting and whole series is amazingly good.
