Can’t agree with you Hammy about fans who find flaws being wrong. Every fan has the right to like or dislike things about a show. If they find a flaw, major or otherwise, with the show then they found a flaw. It doesn’t make them right or wrong, it just makes them what they are - fans.
No show is perfect and Thundercats is no exception. There has been a lot of criticism about the show that goes far beyond how people would have liked the show to play out and any fan criticism is valid even if you don’t like the criticism. Remember, just because a person liked the way the overall story turned out doesn’t mean the show lacks flaws, major or otherwise.
Sorry but I’ve also got to disagree about all the plot holes in Thundercats being filled. To me, there were a number left unresolved. Not to say that’s a bad thing, like you said, it’s just the first season. But also, many of the plot holes that were filled did seem very rushed to me.
Don’t get me wrong, I see where you are coming from; I just can’t agree with you on the matter.
You’re actually more on my side than you think. I never said the show was flawless, and it does have its flaws. It just seems that most of the biggest “flaws” people found were just their complaining about the story. I’m saying people are criticizing the series for all the wrong reasons. Yes, some things were handled too quickly, but people are saying Pumyra’s betrayal was a flaw. I’m also using “major flaw” as a flaw that completely goes against the story or completely just doesn’t make sense at all. Anyone can whine and complain as much as they want but the major flaws they found were either little flaws blown out of proportion or just not even valid flaws at all.
I’m not bashing the people who point out flaws, I’m bashing people who try to say something is a flaw that can’t possibly be one. Example: Lion-O not being with Cheetara. People tried to make this seem like a flaw when it’s just what happened in the story. To compare it to The Three Little Pigs, it’s like saying “The wolf blowing down the first two pigs’ house was a flaw, because I wanted the pigs to be able to live in their houses, no matter what they built it out of!”

That being said, I don’t disagree with you at all. I probably give this show a lot more credit than it deserves but what I’m saying still stands. There are flaws to the series, but the problem is a lot of fans are too busy criticizing the story for not being the way they wanted it than actually making valid points. Saying the story and writing were lackluster for the sole fact that you didn’t like the episode is NOT a valid argument. Bottom line: if you’re going to be a critic, at least he informed. I can handle people criticizing a show I like if they have good points but the irrationality in the bashing of this series is just out of hand.

I have to disagree with you saying that if you found a major flaw in the storytelling that you’re wrong. The show had many flaws. It was far from perfect. I liked where the main story went, but the way it was told often left people scratching their heads. It needed more cohesion between episodes. Characters would learn lessons then forget them the next episode. And they had a bad habit of breaking story momentum with fillers between important episodes. And as for Cheetara being with Tyrga, I like her better with him, but a lot of people (though not all) who were angry with that were more upset because it seemed to come out of nowhere instead of having any foreshadowing or buildup rather than who her choice actually was.
Again I liked the overall story and plot, and I didn’t mind most of the changes they made from the OS, but their storytelling could’ve been a lot better.
Like I said in my latest post, my idea of a major flaw is literally something that completely makes a huge hole in the story. There were a few moments where they could have done better, but plot holes like in Korra and some other shows were much, MUCH worse.

No, Korra just had an extremely poor written finale. It had 10x the problems TCats had when it comes to execution of story.
I’m interested in a second “ThunderCats” season of the highest quality.

And if you really dont find any flaws but find it in Korra you are nothing more than a fanboy. I dont want to say that’s a bad thing but you just like the new TC so much that you dont see it’s big flaws. It has nothing to do that the story did not go where i wanted to or something simliar. It just felt out of place so many times cause of the same reasons Balgus pointed out.
The show is not BAD, but saying the main story was not without a flaw, or the show is a whole is just crazy. Is it your opinion this show is almost perfect? Fine knock yourself out.
I’m a fan of Thundercats through my whole heart, but this season for me really was a disaspoint, not that it was bad it was GOOD as a whole maybe a score between 6-7, but not more cause of all the flaws it has.
I agree! I remember I told Dan Norton on Facebook, that this series was better than the original especially since it started off so strong (and I still stand by that idea)…with that said there is still room for improvement in the show. IMO, I think the 2nd season (if made) was going to be EPIC!

The show only dumb cause of all flaws. It’s nothing about the storyline, characters, weapons, places, it’s just WHAT HAPPENS if you know what i mean.
To be honest, what the creators made i really like. It’s this mix of Fantasy and Sci-fi which is really great, and the way they dont believe in tech but the race actually comes from other space is awesome!
There is a big reason behind why i spread the words about this to all my friends, a big reason why all these kids come to my house (came rather as the show is not airing new episodes right now) to watch it. THEY LOVED IT and SO DO I but it still has it’s flaws!
What more can i say? I like it at it’s core, i can imagine how great it would be if done better and that’s good for me. This show inspired some of my writing (mostly on what NOT to do) so it’s far from bad, but also far from great.

Are you guys even reading my posts? I don’t mean to be rude, but I never say ThunderCats is without flaws. I really didn’t. I just stated that the flaws people point out are not the real flaws to the series, and people blow them up.
You know what? Here are the flaws in my perspective:
-Lack of Cheetara’s character development
-Lion-O never forgave Cheetara for the “betrayal”
-Panthro and Pumyra switched attitudes about Lion-O too quickly
-Not enough mutant screen time (Addicus and especially Kaynar)
-How easily Lion-O got the sword back in the second part of the trials
-Weird time skip between Trials Part 2 and Native Son
And the biggest…PANTHRO’S ARMS!!!
Here are Korra’s flaws on the other hand…
-Virtually no character development in Asami and Bolin
-Overuse of Deus ex-Machina
-Episodes were too rushed (if they knew they only had twelve episodes, they shouldn’t have tried to do so much)
-Unintriguing, poorly-written love triangle
-Character sacrifices were in vain (Lin sacrifices bending and Tenzin still gets captured???)
-The series shifted focus from Korra to Mako. It was The Legend of Mako (featuring Korra) by the end of the season
And I have NO doubt the second season for both shows will be a lot better.
Panthro’s arms…I can rant and rave about that episode when he loses them. I was ticked off by that. Lion-o barely even cared while others didn’t. Snarf trying to feed him and Panthro getting irritable about it while Snarf was snickering. Poor sense of humor. I’m sorry! That was the tackiest episode for a Panthro plot! I saw him like those poor soldiers overseas serving our country and body parts being blown off by the enemy. That’s a big tragedy. Using that type of thing in the storyline in Between Brothers was tacky and insensitive.
I didn’t mind the Cyber-arms on Panthro. I thought they looked good and it showed that the good guys could still get hurt. I just didn’t like the Stretchy aspect of them. I would’ve preferred they just made him stronger or if they needed something offensive have some lasers or something instead.
Since Panthro now has cyber-arms, I imagine him going up against Jax from “Mortal Kombat,” since the latter also has cyber-arms.
Don’t get me wrong about my previous post. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy the NS, it’s just not up to par with the OS, especially in terms of being groundbreaking for its era.
Nevertheless, what I’d love to see is still a continuation of the current plot or of course, a reboot. What I’d hate is a complete limbo about the franchise and another 25 years for something new.

As do I. This cartoon was my most anticipated TV show, at the time it aired, prompting me to free up my Friday nights and make SURE I was home to watch it upon airing. While I enjoyed most of it and STILL hope for a second season, it let me down in many areas. Korra, on the other hand, only let me down in the final act of the season finale. I honestly don’t understand most of Hammy’s complaints about it and consider them absolute nonsense. (EXCEPT for that final act. Still love ya though, Hammy! :p)
