Does anybody remember the rumor that in 2003-2006 Warner Brothers were going to release a new Thundercats series. But in the style of Teen Titans with the Thundercats in a rockband; and Snarf’s third eye?
But it it got canned because of all the negative reaction; but was a serious idea pitched to Warner.
I was searching the web and found this photo maybe it was the new :liono idea that never happend.

Yep, that concept piece of Lion-O has been seen before - if I remember rightly, it’s not known for certain whether that was a genuine piece of concept art or not, but it seems likely that it was. However, at the present time it looks as though WB have completely abandoned the idea of bringing ThunderCats back as a TV series in favour of the CGI animated movie!

That Lion-O pic you posted looks like it would of been a MUCH better concept then this rock band thing.
If the ThunderCats movie succeeds, Chris, then a new cartoon series is bound to follow. It happened with Batman and the X-Men, so there’s no reason why it can’t happen with the Cats.
And I have only one thing to say about that piece of promotional art – Yuck!:sneaky:

Err… I’d have to disagree with you there. Although nice, this girl looks nothing like Kit (even in character judging by her expression).
Of all the things only Snarf looks remotely right.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that a) the new CGI is close to the original concepts, b) it’s successful enough to continue the series
That piece is pretty cool on its own merits, but those are NOT Thundercats. In fact, I don’t see anything cat-like about them. If this was intended to be a series, I’m glad it never got made.

well, if I’m not mistaken there is no wilykit, they’re the adult thundercats: Lion-o, Cheetara, Panthro (the kid with the bag) and a mysterious ninja Tygra(of course the must’ve bad boy antagonist of the hero that helps)
the thing is that the wise Snarf arrives to the Earth with the power of the eye of thundera, to transform these kids into the feline heroes…with a personal eye of thundera, quite much like power rangers or the powerpuff girls Z…
however I don’t blame the artist, for he just did a render according to the nowadays’ cartoons trend influenced by anime, where the characters are teens or preteens…
I think that was just a fanmade Lion-O.
You know, that pic might be okay for a Thundercats: The Next Generation show. (I’ve been wondering if they should do one.) That Lion-O kid could work as his son instead. (He’s the only one in the pic that’s even remotely cool.)
But for a Thundercats re-do? NO BUGGING WAY!!!
