“Warner Bros. is also working on securing new licensees to re-launch the ?80s animated series, The Thundercats. Warner Bros. has the classic as well as new licensee to develop product for children, including an updated Thundercats look and collectibles for early fans.”
Best news I’ve heard in a loooooong time. I think we’ll get new toys and perhaps a new series for sure. It only makes sense. Thanks Mumm-Ra for the ehads up
I woke up to this news! AWESOME! New products for both the classic series and a NEW series! What did I tell ya! Something’s brewing in the WB camp and it looks like the ThunderCats are going to be let loose once again!!

His post was more recent.[/ul]We should reply to that thread and ask for updates!

I read this and wanted to clarify something. The guy who says he had the “rights” to the toys is talking about having filed for a trademark of the name “Thundercats”. Anyone can file for a trademark. A trademark does NOT give you the rights to produce anything. You can not just take someones creative property and say gee I am going to copy this and make money on it. If you go in to the US trademark database you will see that Hasbro had filed for a trademark for Thundercats along with several other people/companies in the last few years. So did this guy actually have a trademark filed? Who knows but it is not like he could have done anything about it without being a licensee of WB.
As far as the 4H and Thundercats goes… They said last year on their board that they inquired about the license and at the time they wanted too much money for it and at the rate it would make it not financially sound to acquire it. I am sure they will try and revisit it now that things are moving ahead.
On a side note… I will be going to visit my brother-in-law during my trip to So Cal for SDCC. He is a facility manager for one of the WB buildings. After hearing this little bit of news I am hoping to sneak a glimpse of something going on. I will be sure to ask some questions about Thundercats!
