Thundercats was a hugely popular TV series from the eighties… kids rushed home from school to see what would happen to the Thundercats next!
The animation revolves around a group of humanoid cats who must flee their planet of Thundera after it’s destroyed. Once crash landed on another planet, Third Earth, they must battle the evil forces of Mumm-ra and his servants of doom.
Phrases include:
“Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats, ho!”
“Sword Of Omens, Give me sight beyond sight”
“Safari Joe has done it again!”
“The Thundercats! They’re loose!”
“Where evil exists… Mumm-ra lives”
“By thunder! If ever I were to catch that Tanknapper, I’ll smash him to smithereens!”
Both seem to be hitting stores this July, but as it is a UK product, perhaps a bit longer for the US. You’ll note the most interesting aspect is that there is FREAKING THUNDERCATS PRODUCT coming to stores!! Good sign for those who have been fighting to get the license for action figures? I think yes.
I really hope new merchandising licenses have been given to companies. If not action figures right away, other cool products like these are great as well :), hopefully this will lead to bigger things.
However I doubt it’s any more than a couple of years old.
